It was a different take on pirates story. I stayed up till I had finshed it.
Thier are some love scenes, violence in the content. The story had some twists I did not expect.
Marisol Castellan snuck off the pirate ship to intercept a message that might lead to her missing brother. While she was picking the message their was a fight and gone went off killing the owner. Escaping from soldiers she snuck in tavern back room and exchanged her dress. Trying to go out the front she gets into more trouble Captain Blade Tyburn rescues her and escort her out safely. Marisol before she leaves Blade alone steals his cameo.
Blade is a pirate captain the one thing he keeps and fight for his the cameo he has carried that for years. He sends two of his men to find her. Why he is searching for the cameo he realizes she stole the note from him.
Marisol ends on the ship held till he gets his cameo back. Blade is going where she wants to go, to search for her brother Monte.
Marisol is a very determine, strong women. She has fought as a pirate, but she doesn't want to kill. She trained hard to learn to use knife, sword. She does not follow her captains orders to well. Loves her family very much and they also protect her.
I look forward to reading her next book. I got lost in this story and wanted the best for Marisol would love to see her back in another story.

Honestly, I didn't know if I would like this story as I've never read a Pirate Romance book. I just kept conjuring up images of old-school bodice rippers where the heroine screams no but really means yes and the hero pushes himself on the heroine. I didn't want THAT. Good thing A KISS IN THE WIND is NOTHING like that.
Marisol Castellan is a daughter of a pirate who has lived on a pirate ship for 2 years. She's loved the adventure, but mostly she has loved being with her 2 beloved brothers and her dad...even if dad isn't very loving. Six months ago, her brother Monte was captured during a raid. Marisol has spent every moment trying to locate him. Her tenacity has finally paid off and she sneaks off her ship to intercept a message meant for a rival captain that offers clues to the whereabouts of her missing brother.
Pirate captain Blade Tyburn is not please to find his message missing, and more upset to discover the thief is a raven-haired beauty who is as dangerous as she is beautiful. He must find that note! Blade takes Marisol with him to get what he wants...only to discover he's played into her hand. The two strike up a bargain: He will give her passage to her brother and she will give him the location he needs. Let the adventure begin!
I was so pleased with this story. I loved getting to know Blade and Marisol. Marisol is no shrinking violet. She is a skilled thief who treasures family above all else. Even though she lies to Blade, they were never BIG lies and I still liked her. She knows her strengths and plays to them. She's not afraid of a pirate and is more than his equal, which Blade (and his men) discover when they attempt to kidnap her. Let's just say she is skilled with knives.
Blade is hawt! He is patient and calculating. He's not the typical pirate who sees something shiny and grabs it. No, he plans and outwits. So when this woman comes along and can match her wits against his and maneuver him to her liking, all bets are off. Okay, so that sounds bad. Marisol wasn't manipulative and Blade wasn't being led around by the nose. They were both strong characters who still had some growing to do.
There are several mysteries to be solved: where is Monte? What happened to the ship of silver Blade is supposed to protect? What about Marisol's pirate father? And what will Marisol and Blade do about their blossoming relationship?
I really enjoyed the romance in the story. I loved watching the two match their wits and more against each other. It never felt like one always had the upper-hand of things. It really was tit for tat. Marisol isn't a virgin and isn't afraid of what she wants. She's not all shy about wanting a man, but neither is she a whore. The first time together was quite priceless as she has more concealed weapons than Blade was aware of.
Once the story was over, I wasn't ready to let go of these hot pirates so I quickly purchased Ms. Bray-Weber's backlist and had me a pirate loving weekend. Each story is about a different couple and seems to be able to read in any order. Out of the three I read this weekend, including A KISS IN THE WIND, I liked this one the best as I liked Marisol the best.
