Set of two silicone cotton padded kitchen oven mitts with padded inner liner make up this comfortable, handy oven glove. A non-skid, non-slip silicone on the outside protects your hands from heat. Fabric on the inside keeps your hands comfortable. The raised grooves are ideal for gripping. The inner padding and flex of the silicone provide better movement and gripping power than most silicone mitts. Silicone is high heat resistant up to 425-Degree f. The silicone cotton padded kitchen oven mitts feature a handy cloth loop to hang glove from for easy storage.

I sorted by rating and saw that these were the highest.
I saw silicone was rated higher for heat than that silver stuff on oven mitts.
I saw my old oven mitts and agreed that the silver stuff does peel off after awhile.
I bought these oven mitts and they're the best mitts I've ever owned.
They were cheap too.
You know why you're looking at these...Silicone, ambidextrous, cheap.
The insides feel good too.
When the package arrived I was immediately suspicious. It came in a clear plastic bag with a generic looking label (I will post a picture). There was no discernible branding on the package or the mitts.
When I tried the mitts they felt stiff and less "grippy" when compared to the Kitchen Basics brand.
I also noticed a number of inaccuracies on the Amazon listing for this product.
- the Amazon site states the gloves are heat resistant to 485- Degree F; the label on the product itself states heat resistant to 425 degrees F
- the Amazon site states 100- Percent cotton liner; the label on the product itself states 90% polyester, 10% cotton
- the Amazon site states machine washable; the product label indicates hand wash (bit it also says it is Dishwasher Safe. go figure!)
I realize these are nits but it does bring the product and how it is advertised into question.
If you search for" Kitchen Basics Professional Oven Mitt" on the Amazon site it will return the Kitchen Basics product, sold by an Amazon Partner Golda's Kitchen, which looks identical (aside from colour) to the Kitchen Elements product. Even the silicone pattern on the exterior of the mitt is exactly the same.
From our experience that is where the similarities end. It should be noted that the Kitchen Basics mitts are roughly twice the price - they are sold individually.
This review is not to state that the Kitchen Elements product won't work, however the Kitchen Basics product is far superior. I also think Amazon should exert better quality control over their product listings - this one is not factual and I don't like to be fooled into buying a knock off by Amazon, a company I have always trusted.
These mitts fail on both accounts.
As my wife and I began to use these mitts, we quickly realized that we were having trouble grabbing hold of things. They are inflexible and bend in all the wrong places, not facilitating grip. Moreover, while the mitts do have a bit of texture, it does not prevent the silicone from being slippery against cookie sheets, jelly roll pans, and the handles to skillets.
This is bad enough. However, once you do finally get a tenuous hold onto the object you're supposed to be gripping, you will soon discover that your hands will quickly become uncomfortably hot. For instance, tonight I re-heated some pizza in a toaster oven at 300 degrees. In the distance from taking them out of the toaster oven, turning around, and placing the pizza on the table, the heat had traveled from the pan, through the glove, and into my hand. The item description states that these are heat resistant up to 425 degrees. That is simply not true.
So please avoid these for the sake of your fingers.
