We've had this microwave for about 6 months now and generally like it, but I do feel like it is kind of a downgrade from our previous Panasonic variable Inverter model. But they didn't have one available in the US for over the range mount, so we went with this one.
The reheat mode works fairly well, though it it doesn't have a variable inverter so it runs at full strength for a while and then turns the inverter off for a while. It seems to run the inverter for kind of a long time, I want to say at 50% it will run it for 15 seconds and then off for 15, which can cause things to boil over, as opposed to if it ran for 5 seconds on then 5 off.
The "auto reheat" isn't really that auto. It is more like "pre-programmed reheat" so you have to tell it what kind of food and how much in many circumstances. Some of them will do a "sensing" run for a while, and some of them just run for a while. But it does do a nice job once you have the program selected. The Panasonic just had a "sensor reheat" that seemed to work fine and was much less fussy about setting.
The fan has 5 settings and takes nearly a second to cycle between them. I kind of wish it had dedicated buttons for the fan level, and/or just had 3 settings.
I haven't used the convection oven mode yet. I didn't buy it specifically for that, I figured it would be a nice addition for very infrequent use like Thanksgiving.
It's a beautiful looking microwave, that works fine but is definitely not as good as the Panasonic countertop it replaced. We really needed the counter space though and decided to do the above range. I kind of wish we'd just gotten a regular vent hood and put the old Panasonic into the new pantry on a shelf.
