First of all, let me say I don’t like pizza wheels for many reasons, including they are impossible to clean (they all have an area that is covered that you cannot effectively clean) and they get dull so quickly and they can make a mess of a thick crust pizza.
The pizza scissors are a better idea, but they can be difficult to use. Sometimes I get a clean cut, other times I don’t and just make a mess. They have to be held exactly right. They require some hand strength, especially for a thick crust. When I first cut the hot pizza, I like to cut very small slices since they cool easily and prevent the hot cheese burning the roof of someone’s mouth. This works better with larger slices.
The scissors take up a lot of storage space. I understand that part of the idea is to cut and serve the pizza all with one tool, but the bottom slab is huge.
The scissors come apart for easy cleaning, a very definite plus.
So not perfect, but the best option until someone comes up with something better – soon, I hope.
