I'm not going to lie, I was a bit skeptical about this tool. In my head I was thinking that all the mango seeds are different sizes and this thing was just a waste of money but... I was wrong. This thing is sooo easy and you really get as much of the fruit as possible in my opinion.
The only thing that I may be worried about in the future is trying to sharpen the blades? Not sure how long it'll take for the blades to get dull but I love this thing. A must have for those that eat mangos!
I am not a unitool person. A knife does the job 99% of the time. But mango pits are really ridiculously difficult. And I love mangos.
I feel like this tool has rescued me from a lifetime of slicing my hand. It is very easy to use, directions came on the back of the packaging, easy to clean, and it is solidly constructed. There is no wasted fruit, either.
I've also noticed that the edge of the blade already has a lot of pits and divots. I've probably only cut 20 or 30 mangos in the time I've owned it, it's always hand washed w/ just a sponge, and it's been stored on a shelf where it doesn't come into contact with any other utensils.
With the risk of bacteria and the dulling blade, I think I'll just go back to using a regular ole knife to cut my mangos.
