This cookware set is an exceptional value, including all of the pans needed to equip your kitchen with the most used cooking pieces. As the set contains only basic pieces, you'll really use each and every pan. It includes saucepans for whisking a homemade sauce or cooking your morning oatmeal, a big stockpot for soups, stews or boiling pasta, and skillets (probably the most used pan in any kitchen) that will help you turn out perfect crepes or a simple grilled cheese sandwich. The set also includes a saute pan, a wide, straight-sided pan that can perform many of the functions of a skillet but features deep sides for extra capacity, perfect for one dish meals. Start your dish in this pan by sauteing onions and browning meat, then add your liquid and other ingredients into the same pan to finish on the stovetop or in the oven.

Pans are taller then expected but that's good when I have multiple pans on my stove.
Covers do steam up but I can't really deduct a star for condensation.
UPDATE: almost 2 years later and the non-stick coating has started to flake from the smallest skillet. I have used it almost every single day in the morning (my husband eats the same egg breakfast thing every day, literally) so i suppose it has seen a lot of action. I have always sprayed a little non stick pam or whatever on it too. I have used it for about 6 months on a gas range and the rest of the time on electric.
I still really like the set, but am sad to see that little guy go. I will probably get another kitchenAid brand to replace it, but am a little bummed to see they are a bit expensive to buy stand alone pans.
I got burned by the handles several times now as the metal is HOT!
The base of the big pot is made quite small which makes it wobble a bit (my old one has a wide base and never did this). This pot is way taller than my old one. It's compensating for the size of the base. I find it harder to cook. Additionally, I am a lazy cook who actually puts the entire pot in the fridge to store. The height makes it difficult to store in the fridge.
They are better looking than the pictures here. They are actually charcoal gray rather than black.
They heat well, cook evenly, clean up easily and the outside of the pans have not stained, discolored or have been any
problem at all. I have not, nor will not, put them in the dishwasher always use wood or plastic utensils which I have always
done anyway so using this type of cookware is not a problem for me. They are performing just as I had hoped. I would
definitely recommend KitchenAid to anyone.
