Sturdy, sharp, large and comfortable in hand... For a long time I've bought bags of shredded cheese to avoid the tedium of shredding it myself. Pre shredded isn't without issues and if decided buying blocks of cheese and shredding what I need as I need it produces a better quality end product. The block cheese, shredded, melts better. Supposedly the bag stuff has corn starch (?) added to keep it from sticking together in the bag.
Can't explain the science but it prompted me to getting this box grater and putting in the extra time like mom used to do. I've not yet been disappointed with this purchase but I've not any feature except the standard cheese grater side of the box. The slicer is sharp, I expect it works well but I've not officially tested it.
For some , the size of this kitchen implement might be off putting. It is a large box grater so if your kitchen forces you to space save at every turn I could see where this might be a little off putting. Did I mention it's a large box grater? That said, the size does provide a nice stable base for when you're really putting in the work.
It comes with a little plastic measuring cup that snaps on the bottom. It wasn't a selling point for me but it could definitely be handy for some user trying to maintain portion control maybe but I feel like a good scale probably does that job more accurately.
The build quality seems really good on this device. Time will tell.
