the good and the bad

I have mixed feelings on this chopper but over all it’s a good product if it suits your needs. The base is well made, charges in just a couple hours, and is made of sturdy, quality plastic. The container feels flimsy in comparison and was a disappointment. I hope they make replacements available for a reasonable cost because even with gentle handling and hand washing I have a feeling it’s going to break. It’s nothing like the container on a food processor, it’s dime store quality plastic and for the price should be nicer.

The other reason why I don’t feel it’s just good and not great is the way it turns on and charges. That slider on the front does not turn it on and off. It controls the speed. You turn it on and off by holding the container like a mug and pressing down on the plastic with your thumb. It’s awkward and uncomfortable. It also means you only have one hand to hold the machine so it shimmies around. Fine for small amounts of softer foods but dicing a carrot is a two person job or requires bracing the base against my hip with a towel to keep it from sliding. The charging port is on the front right next to the slider and right where food can drip into. There is no plug or cover.

It does have excellent power, especially for a cordless appliance. It almost seems overpowered for the size but I’m not complaining about that. The base truly is very well engineered and built.

Overall I like this chopper and will be keeping it even with the not so awesome container. My house is historic and lacks outlets. This being cordless helps me to do my meal prep work on the large counter away from the outlets. I like it so much I bought the cordless hand mixer as well. I have both in the blue velvet color and like how the textured plastic feels and the fact that it resists those light scratches that my corded kitchenaid hand mixer is prone to.

I just got this after I ordered a new cordless Hand Mixer and I love them both! in my small kitchen the outlets are not convenient and this cordless line from Kitchen Aid is perfect! I have used it a few times already and it has a more powerful motor than my older corded food processor. It's convenient and easy to use and clean. It charged up very quickly and held the charge to power the motor for over an hour and might've gone longer if I kept using it.

I don't know how long this cordless mini processor will last. The bowl is made from thin plastic. Not very sturdy. Also, the interior of the bowl has a few ridges that run up and down the bowl. When a rubber spatula is used to transfer the contents, the spatula doesn't scrape smoothly. That's kind of annoying because I have to work harder to scoop food out. And then there is the handle that is very flimsy, thin and isn't round, so it feels odd. I wish I had noticed this in the photos or product videos. I can see the handle breaking in the future. The bowl and lid were easy to engage and remove. Because it is a cordless processor, make sure the lid is not engaged when stored.

It chopped half of a medium onion uniformly, but I did have to open the lid to push the bigger pieces down (I chopped the onion into smaller chunks before processing). It did a fine job making a smooth sauce. For the price, I expected a top-notch product like my Kitchenaid stand mixer.

I love how easy this is to store, pull out and use without unwinding cords and needing an outlet. It seems to hold its charge for a very generous amount of time, although that will of course depend on frequency of use. Moving up to 5 cups from the mini chopper has been a game changer, although the pouring hole could be bigger as dripping in even a half cup of olive oil can take ages. Still, a batch of hummus is a breeze and it beats pulling out my huge food processor to make Caesar dressing. The button you press to chop is not a terrific design and can be occasionally uncooperative. As for ease of cleaning, our previous mini chopper formed mold inside the lid pieces and was impossible to clean out. Buying a replacement lid in Canada was literally the same price as buying a brand new chopper. (Kitchenaid, ever hear of “right to repair”?) I’m afraid the same mold issue could occur with this model but I like its other features so much that I’m game to overlook that possibility. So all in all, I’d say it’s a good machine but Kitchenaid has definitely ramped up the cost of going cordless. This review sounds a lot more negative than I’d intended. Really, I like it! With reservations 😊

my wife my wife makes frozen mango kefir smoothies every second night and it handles the Frozen mango no problem. Probably got about four to five nights a lot of it before it says it needs a charge about the frozen fruit I'm sure gives it a workout.
Only Improvement could be the plastic handle on the cup is tad thin.

This cordless chopper is an excellent addition to our kitchen. Easy to clean and plenty of power. It whips cream beautifully. Fine grate of fresh parmesan takes a bit of time, but it does get there! Perfect. So much better than store bought. It has not failed to give good results in all our uses since it arrived.. The cordless usage is wonderful. Only cons: It is very loud when dealing with hard materials and lightweight, as in would dance around it not firmly held when chopping the hard foods, but the actual results are top notch, so those two points are not a big concern.

Because it is cordless, it is easy to store. A heads up on the manual...in the list of accessories, it lists a storage case. I could not find one in the box so I emailed KitchenAid & apparently, the same manual is included with two different models. One has the storage case but this one does not...I told them this should be specified in the manual to avoid confusion.
