I've owned this mixer for 2 years. I use it at least once a week. It mixes everything I use it to mix, including bread dough (with the dough hooks, 4 C flour recipe). It mixes thoroughly and quickly. I've bought one for each of my daughters and they each love this mixer! Cooks Illustrated Magazine (America's Test Kitchen) rated this the top hand mixer of all the hand mixers they tested. They were right!

Last Christmas, at a holiday gathering, I was given the job to whip the potatoes with the thin wired beater Kitchaid handheld mixer. Having always put faith in this brand I was anxious to try it. Since my hand mixer had just broken the night before, I thought this was a great opportunity to see if I'd replace mine with this model. The lack of surface wire, like the standard beaters have, left much to be desired. No matter how much I whipped I could not get many of the lumps to break and it was not due to undercooked potatoes. They were cooked just right and would have whipped to a smooth consistency if I'd had the standard wide wire on the beater instead of the inadequate thin one. In fact, I had to use a fork to try to deminish the lumps before putting them into the serving bowl. Needless to say, I did not purchase one for my kitchen. It seems that many companies are going to this model of beater...must be cheaper to produce but it is inferior. I had to search many brands before I found one with the standard wide wire beater. It had several attachments, was priced much better and works beautifully. Now, I am happy!

This is a great mixer that is good overall. The spped could be a bit faster but it could mix anything we threw at it, including refrigerated butter that was not even thawed.
I would recommend!
