I probably should have read more of the previous negative reviews. Upon arrival I gave it a test run. Beaters were inserted per instructions... several times to confirm no error...and the non-collared beater wobbled horribly every time it was turned it on. Like - HORRIBLY. The one saving grace is if you were to get hit by a wobbly beater flying off, the motor has such incredibly poor power it’s unlikely you would notice. At top speed it is probably half the strength of the 20 year old hand mixer I planned to retire. Also, I didn’t keep the mixer long enough to know how the body would hold up but the piece where the beaters attach oddly seemed to be very thin plastic. So disappointed! I expected MUCH better quality from Kitchenaid! Amazon handled the return and refund quickly. Shopping for a Cuisinart model now.

I bought this mixer for my wife for Christmas. I was happy knowing that KitchenAid is a good brand but after opening the product we were dissapointed with what we found. Both of the attachments were bent/not balanced. Usually we can make do with little issues when buying new things but in this case we will definitely be sending it back. One of the two attachments was so bent that it makes the mixer shift and vibrate in your hand while running it. It would be nice to get the product right the first time you order it.

OK but not Great. It starts out really slow which is good but way too much trouble to get it to top speed. You have to hit the increase button 6 times and then if you shut it off you have to do it all over again. I prefer a toggle switch that I can quickly move right over to the chosen speed. It also does not have a real high top speed. At first I thought it was not going to get the job done. But it mashed the potatoes just fine. Not sure how well it would do on any thing to thick. Everything snaps together easily and comes apart easily. I ordered a cheaper model of another brand that was totally worthless and returned it. I spent twice as much on this one but not sure it was worth double the money. If it was the first one I had ordered i probably would have returned it but at this point it is a keeper. At lease it gets the job done which the first one did not.

It is very quiet, not too heavy, easy to handle, beaters insert and eject easily, and does an excellent job of mixing my cake and muffin batters. I am not a big baker, but, if I wanted to make bread or something more than cakes or muffins, I have the KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, which, is wonderful. I have arthritis, especially in my hands and wrists. I was concerned that this mixer would be too heavy or awkward and I would have difficulty using it. Not at all. This is a great, inexpensive hand mixer.

The first time I used it, I loved it. I love the new beaters, and it creams on low just great. I have it set up with the beaters in it, so I can grab it when I need it. I don't know why I waited so long to change my mixer. This makes my baking so much easier, and enjoyable, without batter whipping out of the bowl with my old mixer.

This hand mixer is even more heavy duty than I anticipated. I have mixed up pretty heavy cookie dough, and it creams, folds like a champ. Whips cream (with the whisk attachment) perfectly.

Stands up nicely. Easy to pop the beaters off and in. There is also an indicator that tells you which beater goes into which hole -- so you have a smooth beating experience.

I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, but I only drag that bad boy out during the holidays. This hand mixer does the trick for every day use, and then some. I may even give my stand mixer a run for its money.

Love how quiet it is. You can still talk and hear conversation at 1/4 to 3/4 speeds. Worth the price. The cord mount has left and right clicked positions to keep it out of the way. Good beefy cord. The beaters are not like old school 1/4" wide blades. And the new smaller beaters simply don't beat half frozen butter. Unfortunately, mine was shipped with bent beaters. Shakes like it's having a fit. So minus one star.

Very disappointed with the speed options on this thing. I bought three different mixers, this one, the 5-speed KitchenAid, and the 7-speed Cuisine Art. Both the KitchenAid mixers were extremely underpowered when compared to the Cuisine Art which surprisingly costs as much as the 5-speed KitchenAid. The warranty on the Cuisine Art is a lot longer as well so I really recommend looking at that option instead of this one. After hearing how great KitchenAid mixers were I was really disappointed and returned it to Amazon without any hassles.
