We got this to replace a similar big KitchenAid food processor we had that broke. The old one couldn't go in the dishwasher and the plastic was brittle. It did just standard slicing and shredding and I thought that's all we ever needed.
Then we got this in. Three families got hit with bad news Easter week, and we have an Easter dinner tradition, so we volunteered to make Easter dinner for their large families as well as our own large family. The menu: potato salad, macaroni salad, and cucumber salad. That's 5 dozen boiled eggs to dice, 6 pounds of onions, 5 bunches of celery, and 4 jars of pickles diced in MINUTES. Like less than 30 minutes! Not to mention the half dozen cucumbers sliced perfectly!
