Amazon.com

With a large, high-carbon, cutlery-grade stainless-steel swivel blade, this heavy, sturdy European-style tool peels fruits and vegetables and forms cheese curls with precision and speed. The peeler has a stylish black, enamel-like handle, with accent bands of 18/8 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish, and is dishwasher-safe. The peeler's handle is shaped for a firm grip, is weighty enough to provide control, and has a hole to facilitate hanging on a hook or peg. The blade is 2-1/4 inches long. Overall, the peeler measures 7-1/2 inches long. KitchenAid says the first year of the peeler's lifetime warranty against defects is hassle-free; the company will ship a replacement at no cost and without question if a defect is detected. --Fred Brack

I have had my peeler almost 4 years. It feels great in your hand, has good blade protection for your fingers and has stayed very sharp. Its great on potatoes, cucumbers and apples. I was really impressed when I started using it to peel Butternut, Pumpkin and other hard squashes. So much faster and safer than a knife. It is truly the best peeler I have ever used. Buy it!

Very nice peeler except it's missing a feature that every other peeler I've ever seen has; a protuberance that can be used to remove the eyes from potatoes.

Strange...one has the kitchenAid Emblem & the other looks exactly as pictured. Both are Onyx black.

I do prefer the one pictured...I purchased at Target. The most comfortable pealer I've ever used! Plus, it's very easy to use & the blade is sharp whether you're pealing outward or toward yourself.

The one with the round KA emblem I purchased at Chef's catalog. It is nice, but much heavier & thicker...probably much better for larger hands. Otherwise, it is just as good as the one pictured.

You can tell from the initial placement against the potato skin Kitchenaid thoroughly thought through the design of this item. I knew by its name to get three; one for the home, the outdoor kitchen and the camping kitchen. A must have for anyone in the kitchen!

Great tool, however, it is a big larger than I anticipated and very powerful. I think this is good for peeling things like eggplant..but for carrots and smaller veggies, it takes off too much meat. There is another kitchen aid peeler I have seen that is not quite so big. It must be the EURO ...have to investigate.

smooth operation, like the weight in my hand, peeling much easier than with my former grocery store model, and doesn't take off as much of the food as with my paring knife.

I love this peeler! As with all the Kitchenaid products I have purchased thus far, it is sturdy and well made. It has a nice, weighty feel in your palm and makes quick work of peeling potatoes. I promptly made scalloped potatoes after getting mine. Is it more expensive than the ones you get at your local retailer? Perhaps, but is worth every penny as it will outlast the cheap ones sold elsewhere.

I have had the same kind of peeler for 35 years--the same kind of peeler we had in our drawer when I was a kid. It has never worked all that well, but I didn't know there was any other type! Then I visited my son and saw his wife using this KitchenAid peeler. Based on her recommendation I purchased one (didn't even try it out first). What a difference! I wish I had found this sooner. It works really well!
