I am not sure how this new one will measure up to the older unit. The first thing I noticed with the New Unit is the spindle that you attach your mixing blades to and etc. It does have a significant amount of play. The old one is tight as a Drum. Not sure if this will matter in the future and I can not speak of the New Units durability.
I did use it to make a large amount of stiff bread dough and did not notice any significant increase in temperature of the motor housing as mentioned in other reviews
My old pro line is built more solid. What I mean is it is smaller but weights about the same and the metal does seem to be a heavier type. Only time will tell if I made the right decision but for the moment it is a five star Kitchen Appliance.
