Well. That was interesting. No one in there that I really liked, but the story kept taking turns that I did not anticipate. Interesting.
Alien relationships are not easy or clear-cut.

I started off just downloading the sample but what was there very much got me hooked into the story. The opening is very intriguing and I do like the way he builds up the answer piece by piece. The ending wasn't quite the payoff I was looking for but that's more a personal preference than a issue with the writing.

One human and one alien are locked in a room. Both are called dangerous criminals. Why are they imprisoned together? Which is more dangerous, and why?

What we have here is a kind of a mystery, a puzzle story (novelette-length) with more twists and turns than I thought anyone could cram into so few words. The only clue I'll leave here is that each of the two thinks the other is an alien, and each makes precisely the same mistake in doing so.

Smooth, very tense, quick read, full of surprises, including a surprising exploration of the pitfalls that lie in wait as one desperate alien mind confronts another. First-rate.

Story is ok but it is more aimed at titillating teenage boys than pulling the general reader in to an interesting story. Plot has too many inconsistencies, but being a short story, you hit the end before those inconsistencies start to nag at you.

No lie, right at first I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into with this one. There are little changes I'd probably make myself, but nothing really worthy of mention. The problem with aliens is that they can be so, well, alien! That said, the author obviously took the time to do this right. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen next, it seemed to shift in another direction right to the bitter end. So well done, sir author, well written! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.

Twisty little story about alien contact. I'd be fascinated to see more of this world and the main characters.

but in an unexpected way. While the sexual rears its head, its not the most important aspect here -if one would take it out of the stroy, it would still work and be a SF short story like you read in the anthologies of old ..

The only thing that kept me from giving the story a fifth star was an a brief explanation of how the female character had been captured and imprisoned without revealing her abilities. At the end she shows so much power that it had to be tricky.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Short, but interesting read.

Well, this was short and sharp, and completely unexpected. I was expecting a tale of two people, both wanting to perhaps kill each other, and being forced to work together to escape, but what I got was a whole lot different.
it was a great twist at the end, and while I could see the potential for savageness and sadism, I think the author is trying to get his protagonist to rise above that, and become a better person for it.
