Klein's 1001 Multi-Purpose Electrician's Tool – 8-22 AWG has two wire cutters, one at the tip and the other halfway near the back of the stripping holes. This is a doubled utility. It crimps 7-8mm insulated and non-insulated terminals, lugs and splices. It also cuts and strips 8-22 AWG solid and 10-26 AWG stranded wire. The tool cleanly shears bolts, and the pivot nut adjusts the tension. It is left and right hand wire looping holes near the tip of the tool. It has full sized, plastic covered cushioned handles for comfort. The wire cutter is in the nose and below the pivot. It is also color coded for easy identification.

I have been and electronics tech and ham radio operator for a long time and I do my own electrical work. I had one of there's a long time ago and it was good but this is great. I have to be able to cut and trim large and small solid and stranded wire. This also has a better crimp system than the old model and better than any other multitool I have used. You can spend more and get separate stripper that will do every thing but blow your nose and there are better crimper's. But this is a hell of a combo. It wastes no space it even has a large cutter that will cut up to 10/3 power cord. I have some dikes that are big enough to do the job but they don't work on rubber sided large stranded cable. It just pinches it. Before now I'd have to get out the saber saw with a steel bit and cut it. It cut that cable with no problem and in one cut. It also does a great job of stripping.
I've been doing electronic and some electrical work for over 20 years and I love it. An electrician told me about this model.
Would I buy it again (yes)
Would I recommend it to a friend (yes with out hesitation)
Do I know of a better one (have not found one yet)

I figured if it was a Klein product it would be good. How wrong I was. One side must have been bent or something, because the cutter blades nearest the grip were jamming against each other, preventing the plier from fully closing. The cutter nearer the pivot wouldn't cut 10ga. stranded automotive wire, no matter how they were adjusted/aligned. It only skinned the insulation and bent the wire. Good design, poor execution. Klein should be ashamed.

For the most part, it works well. I found that when stripping stranded wire, it wouldn't always cut through the sheath fully and I'd have to supplement it with a box cutter knife or flip the tool around so the angle was different and keep twisting in order to get a clean cut on the sheath. This made the job take a lot longer than it should have. But overall it was useful.

I like these pliers for the simple fact that all of your crimping Is done at the tip instead down lower in the handles. If your in a tight spot and need to crimp it makes it much more ergonomically friendly.

The 1001 tool I received is way different from what is shown, different crimping style and NO IGNITION crimper, being returned. Nice made in America tool but not as shown, the Tekton may be a China copy of the one pictured here. I am keeping it instead because at least is has what is shown.
