I use these strippers daily, they work great. They are nice small and fit in my tool pouch. The handle insulation goes right up to the top and is nice for stripping wire on live circuits. I know a couple of guys who bought Milwaukee strippers that are twice as expensive only to return to a simple pair of Kleins because the metal on Milwaukee stripper head extends back too far on the handle for them to feel safe working on live circuits. A pair of these strippers typically lasts me a year before the two halves start to loosen up a bit form stripping thousands of wires. This is probably my third set and I have been very happy with them.

I actually went to lowes first since I didn't want to wait even 2 days but they had nothing like this. It makes life sooooo much easier stripper fine wires in swapping out light fixtures. Highly recommend for he price over using needle nose pliers

Perfect for the small gauge wires. Gives a nice clean strip without cutting the wire. Feels good in the hand and gets the job done right unlike a razor blade. Saves hours of frustration when working with thin wires.

First pair worked fine for a couple weeks but the blades ended up separating, rendering them unusable. Because they rivet them together, there is no adjustment screw. Amazon replaced the defective product. Both pairs, however, came with an entirely different handle that looks like the yellow Klein 11045 (see photo). They're not rubber dipped like in the image and are a bit bulkier so keep that in mind before purchasing. The lack of adjustment means I wouldn't use this pair for anything but light duty work.

The main thing I look for in a pair of cutters, strippers or pliers is that they move smoothly but don't rattle. These have just the right tension, the grip is comfortable and the blades haven't worn down at all so far.

Replacing ballasts all day will take it's toll most. I maintain the lighting in 240 stores. This tool is the one. Too soft of a handle will make it tough to sense when you have a clean cut and too stiff will make an old guy's hand sore. These work better than all the rest. Those goofy angled ones may look better but, no. Small, easy to keep clean, durable, good feel in the hand. I have been given others to try by sales reps that stop by the Platt store. I always give them back. I'll keep buying my little yellow "snippers". The only stripper that is better costs $400 dollars, is ceramic and is ruined if you use it on the wrong type of wire.

Klein stripper/cutters are made in the USA and the Klein brand is known for its reliability, but for a couple dollars more you can get an even better product that comes with a couple extra very nice features and is just as reliable.

Comfort and safety, that's what separates the Greenlee/Paladin (Greenlee bought Paladin in 2007 or 2008) stripper/cutters from Kleins. The Greenlee product has an ergonomic design (The head of the tool and handles are designed at a optimum 22 degree angle to prevent awkward wrist bends) and a lock to keep the business end closed, both of these features makes Greenlee a better choice for me.

If Klein had the same features as the Greenlee I would spend the extra cash and buy USA.

Bought it to strip fine gauge wires, some of which have very slippery insulation. Maybe with practice I'll get better, but for several wire types I tried it wasn't easy to cut the insulation without nicking the wire. Also, the description mentions stranded wire, but that's only for the red-handled model. The handles are comfortable and the tool appears well made.
