Our dedication to sound reproduction and craftsmanship is legendary. And, incidentally, the same high-standards of design and technology guide every headphone we make. The X4i is the premium model in the Klipsch X Series, providing balanced armature drivers and superior quality for an experience unlike any other. A three-button remote and mic lets you control phone calls and playlists with the push of a button or the sound of your voice. Four included sizes of patented Klipsch oval ear-tips allow for your perfect fit for the ultimate in comfort. Amazing Comfort and Fit: Equipped with the patented oval ear tips for which Klipsch is known, the X4i allows for hours of comfortable, long-term wear. Unlike circular-shaped ear tips that put stress on the pressure points inside the ear, Klipsch's patented oval ear tips naturally fit the contours of the ear canal, providing comfortable long-term wear. These ear tips also offer superior noise isolation (or passive noise-cancellation), blocking out almost all ambient noise and providing excellent bass. Premium Sound: The X4i utilizes proprietary balanced, premium-grade armature drivers for a compact and lightweight design with extended frequency response and enhanced details. Functionality: The X4i's audio works with any device that has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Adding to its functionality, the X4i features a three-button remote and mic, granting Apple device users seamless call and music control, and crystal clear conversations.
Top Customer Reviews
BUILD: I was very impressed with the build quality. They have a very high end look and feel, as expected of Klipsch. The buds themselves are made of a brushed aluminum, making them very light, and sturdy at the same time. The cable has a rubberized feel to it, love that. The remote isn't shiny and polished as it appears in the picture on amazon. Its plastic and rubberized just like the cable (I like it). The connector plug is long and straight, making it easy to get into a big case on a phone if necessary.
SOUND: As for the sound, this is where these got just three stars in my book. I burned them in for 20 hours before making any judgment. Even amped and EQ'd, they sound very washed out. The bass is laid back (wanted by some i suppose.) the entire spectrum is VERY balanced. The mids are definitely the most present, if I had to choose which was the most forward. The highs are there, but just overpowered but mids, giving them a very warm and unfortunately slightly washed out sound.
I'll be returning them to amazon.
My only complaint is the the flat cord. It transfers noise from rubbing against my shirt more so than a traditional cord. This is a problem I have with all flat cord in-ear headphones though, and isn't unique to these.
Beautiful design. Very sleek, simple, durable, and comfortable. Elegance is something I appreciate in headphones.
Nice selection of tips.
First and foremost, unsatisfying sound quality. My high expectations for these headphones took a nosedive the moment I hit the play button. Burn-in hasn't changed anything slightly. Very washed out highs/treble, and somewhat absent bass. They just don't produce the resonant and warm sound that you'd expect when paying $150. They sound tinny!
Volume is suppressed. Half volume is still pretty quiet, and full volume is not nearly enough to feel any pain. The power that good headphones should unleash at full volume wasn't reached.
Packaging was a stupid pain. Peeling sticker after sticker and twisty-ties and stubborn tabs in the complicated packaging got frustrating. Also is going to make it difficult to get a full refund when I return these.
So basically, the beautiful design on the Klipsch X4i means nothing to me when they can barely compete even with the low-end skullcandy headphones that they were supposed to replace. I expected them to sound A LOT better than my cheapos, not just a "little". There are so many more options available for you if you are willing to spend this kind of cash.
These X4i's which are now being phased out of their current selections are well worth the money if you can get them on sale. I paid about $75, which was half off retail & I have no regrets. Like most Klipsch earbuds they have a nice full sound, not too base heavy and just about where I like the mids and highs. Overall a nice full balanced sound.
This is my 5th pair of Klipsch earbuds and I have not regretted buying any of them.
Their customer service is great and thankfully I've only had one pair that had technical issues and with one phone call to their c/s department, I had a brand new pair in my hands about 3 weeks later! They didn't even ask me to send in the defective pair!
So if you are looking for a great sounding pair of buds, and you can get them at a good sale price of $75-$80 (normally$150.00) I would not hesitate to pick them up. If you do get a pair I really believe you'll be happy you did.
Obviously I would not hesitate to recommend these earbuds to someone looking for a good quality product from a company with a great reputation!
