I wanted to upgrade my 15 year old mismatched 5.1 surround system speakers. I knew that
having matching speakers would give me equal timber. This is especially important
across the 3 front speakers. I'm not an "audiophile" but I do spend a great deal of time
enjoying my home theater system. I felt this investment in pleasure would last me for
the rest of my life. I'm in my fifties and did an online hearing test with quality headphones.
I can hear above 12khz, but the equalization/volume must be set higher than the rest of the
sound spectrum. Klipsch is known for "bright" highs, so I felt this was a step in the right direction.
As far as this series of speakers goes, they are above midline. They are Limited Edition as well.
I spoke to Klipsch, they explained that these were made for the Canadian market and are acoustically
identical to the American Reference version. Apparently an over run in production
put these on the American market. I haven't tried the American version, which cost more. But I
believed the Klipsch rep. and personally am very happy with the sound of these speakers. I have
had them long enough that they are broken in, sounding and looking fantastic. All at a better price
than the American version.
