Integrated into the patterning and construction, side rails help provide a secure, comfortable sleep by centering you on the pad and inhibiting air movement while tossing and turning.
Secure and simple, our valve allows for inflation in as few as 10 breaths, and opens wide for rapid, complete deflation. The mechanism creates a secure seal and helps prevent inadvertent opening
With the body-mapped design, oversized sleeping area and dynamic side rails, you'll be sure to have a better night’s sleep
The 30D Polyester Material on the top provides lightweight comfort with 75D material providing superior tear, puncture and abrasion resistance for minimal weight.
Included for emergency repairs, a patch kit comes stored in a small integrated pocket on the top of the pad’s storage bag – already packed and always at hand.
A treatment permeates the inside laminate to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, including fungus and bacteria, that can cause odors and material damage.
Super Lightweight Design:
Weighs only 16.3oz, considerably less than other air mattresses and self-inflating pads of the same size, thickness and R-Value.
The 30D top and 75D polyester material is the best combination of backcountry durability and ultra lightweight.
A stuff sack, sized specifically for your pad, is included to maintain compactness and provide protection while traveling.
Deep Weld Patterning
Unlike traditional pads that flatten the bag’s fill, Deep Welds create expansion zones that allow your bag to fully loft beneath you for improved thermal comfort.
Body Mapping Technology
Our specially developed V-shaped design delivers superior support and comfort no matter how you sleep – on your side, stomach or back.
The 3”x8” pack size is tiny compared to closed-cell foam or self-inflating pads with the same footprint, R-Value and thickness.

Cons: It takes some time to learn how to use the air gauge properly, but still I feel like this part has room for improvement. When you are approaching last few breaths, the air tends to get push out as pressure builds up in the pad. Wish there were some kind of ball-and-socket mechanism to lock the air in at every breath.
I paid money out of my own pocket to purchase this pad after reading hundreds of reviews. I really hate what Amazon is doing with all those "unbiased honest review" after the reviewer has received the product for free or at a steep discount. It's destroying the integrity of the Amazon review system.
I am 6'-2" 210lbs. and sleep on my side. I move quite a bit at night, but wake up rested with no soar shoulders when i use this pad. I can't recommend this enough for lightweight hiking.
I took the Static V2 out this past week to the Escalante for a week of hiking and camping. I used the Static V2 for two nights.
First, the good: The pad it mostly comfortable - the V-shaped baffling is kinda weird, but also kinda cool...I definitely didn't mind it muc: I slightly prefer the horiztonal baffling of the XLite/XTherm, but I like the V-shape better than the vertical baffling in BA pads. So I set up for the first night, and everything was mostly great, and I was mostly happy with the purchase...
But then, the pad leaked. I woke up in the middle of the night to a flat pad - a frustrating feeling that I'm sure many of you know. In the dark, I fiddled with the air valve. Was it possible that I hadn't closed it correctly? The air valve on the V2 is a push-pull valve that I thought I may not have secured. I re-inflated the pad and set up again, hoping that the original deflation was due to my own user error.
I woke up at around 5am to a newly deflated pad.
The second night, I tired again, for the sake of being extra sure, and had essentially the same experience. At this point, I considered trying to find the leak (if that was the issue) and patch the pad, but I was about 40 miles down a dirt road and didn't have any kind of water to test for leaks. Luckily, I was car camping this week, and had brought my XTherm as a backpack, so the remaining three nights were blissful.
As I arrived back to civilization, I decided to just return the pad and get a new one: I fully understand that even the best companies sometimes make defective products - I'm sure there have been a few XTherms that leaked right off the bat, even though mine has been going strong for 60+ nights. So I'm hopeful that my new Static V2 will work perfectly, and that the first one was just bad luck. I'll be back to update with the replacement as soon as I can.
Cons: Second night using it it lost some air during the night. Main con is that if you are not on perfectly level ground then you will slowly fall off of the mat throughout the night as most sleeping bags(even with traction strips). Not only that but it would also slide around along the bottom of the tent.
IMPROVEMENTS: Needs to have at least one side that has traction strips or something to be able to hold it in place.
It wasn't as slippery as some have described and was relatively quiet.
it worked perfect for inserting into my mummy army sleeping bag for cold places like new zealand. I ended up just sleeping on it by itself with nothing else in hawaii due to the warmer temps and that was the least comfortable pillows kept sliding off of it and you can easily roll off of it but still worked better than my friends sleeping pads.
