Lucien. Ah Lucien. There simply aren't enough adjectives to describe the Thor-like Viking sex god. He still oozes appeal on every possible level; he's bossy, irresistable, playful, determined, relentless and I loved him all over again. But this time we see much more of his vulnerable side and my heart ached for him whilst at the same time I wanted to shake some sense into him. Sophie has impressed me in this book. She's hurting, confused and is that little bit lost after the events which Knight & Play ended on. But her weakness for Lucien is also her strength and there is a real shift in dynamic as to who needs who more, making for a fabulous story with a few nice surprises and some exceptionally hot sizzling horizontal (and vertical) activities that leave you wishing to god that you were in her shoes (thankfully my husband doesn't read my reviews!)
Whilst I'm a little sad that we have reached the end, Knight & Play and Knight & Stay are books I will never tire of reading. I laughed, I sighed those sighs that we women are prone to when we are that little bit in love and I found myself welling up. Needless to say, I have no hesitatation in recommending and I look forward to more from Kitty in the future.
I loved the characters of Sophie and Lucien and the see their transformation over the 2 stories, but most especially in "Knight and Stay". The settings were beautifully described, the surrounding details, clothes, intimate apparel, sex toys, even the food, magically transported me for a few hours to wherever Sophie and Lucien were.
I cannot say enough good things about this book and I really don't want to give the story line away. Suffice it to say that if you loved "Knight and Play", you will adore this sequel.
Hopefully, Ms. French is working on some new stories, I will definitely read whatever she writes.
But, for right now, I think I may go back and re-read "Knight and Play" and lose myself all over again.
This is book 2 in a series. Books are not stand-alones and should be read in order:
1) Knight and Play
2) Knight and Stay
In book 1 we followed Lucien and Sophie in their whirlwind affair, set out to teach Sophie's cheating husband a lesson by exploring Sophie's sexuality. Coming back from the cliff hanger at the end of book 1 where Sophie's husband and Lucien were about to come face to face, book 2 opens up with the confrontation and blow-out. What follows is the much less of a romance and more of a roller-coaster as Lucien and Sophie are faced with the aftermath of their affair.
Hero: Lucien Knight/Norwegian/31 years/CEO-founder Knight, Inc/dark blond hair/blue-grey eyes
Heroine: Sophie Black/British/25+ years/Personal assistant/married/blond hair/blue eyes
Sophie has come a long way since the shy, unassuming and prudish girl we met in book 1. In book 2 she will be faced with a marriage in turmoil and the aftermath of an affair with her boss. Her husband is regretting his affair, Sophie has developed feelings for Lucien and Lucien... he can make no promises. That's a hard pill to swallow, even for someone as meek as Sophie. Still she can't just walk away:
"They were lovers, except without the love. It was about sex. Amazing, fantastic, not-ready-to-walk-away-from-it-yet sex."
"Lucien drew female eyes wherever he went. It wasn't just his height, or his Viking beauty, or his broad shoulders. The man exuded lust from his very bones: he emitted sexual charisma on a frequency that no woman could be expected to ignore.Read more ›

I loved this whole series! It was well written, but I was surprised by the amount of typos. I can easily get past those, though. Awesome book!Published 2 months ago by Miranda
