This isn't a bad knife for $20. It's well-made, has decent steel, and is from a reputable company. The Bantams are all US-made now (since late 2010).

The blade is 3-5/8" long with a 3-1/4" cutting edge. It's hollow ground, and mine came razor sharp right out of the box. Blade steel is Buck's 420HC, which does a good job at edge holding, rust prevention, and the ability to be resharpened, all without breaking the bank. It's not super tough, but adequate for daily cutting chores. The swedge on the back in't sharpened, not should it be. There's a thumb stud on each side of the blade.

The entire knife is pinned together, so there's no adjusting it. This wasn't a problem with mine. The blade locks open via lockback, which is positioned halfway down the handle. Lock-up is nice and solid, with no wiggle in any direction. A lanyard slot is provided, but I don't see much use in it, being that this knife is made for tip-down carry only. The pocket clip can be removed with a Torx (T-6) driver, and is all black; the three screws are also black. The clip is for right-hand tip-down carry only. Retention in the pocket is good. The camouflage pattern on my knife looks great; I bought this so I could have the benefit of using a larger knife without scaring the people around me. For some reason, pink seems to do the trick for that. The camo pattern will vary slightly from knife to knife, but they'll all have the same general scheme.

For the money, I like this knife. The Byrd Cara Cara 2 in FRN is a better choice for the same amount of money, but is only available with black handles.

I prefer larger folders and the BHW does not dissapoint. In fact, some co-workers tend to be a little put off by it when I pull it out of my pocket to open a box.

The knife arrived quite sharp, holds an edge, and takes an edge easily.

The weight of this knife is unreal for its size. It's a featherweight, but at the same time inspires confidence that it is well-constructed. Except for the pocket clip, which is about the only cheap-feeling part of the knife.

This knife opens quite easily with one hand.

I'd probably make this five stars if the blade were partially serrated.

I gave this knife five stars because I am very happy with it. The blade appears to be made of good steal. I can sharpen it to a fine edge and it seems to hold. It cuts well. It cuts wood well. The blade has got a good shape - good general purpose. The handle is of a composite material. I was leery of this at first - but it seems strong and I think it is going to hold up to much use. I like the shape of the handle - it is molded to fit the hand. It is a lock blade knife - and because of the way the handle is molded to fit a hand - I feel that I can apply much pressure when using the knife and not worry about loosing control of it. I like the orange color because I got the knife for hiking and camping. The orange makes the knife bright enough to see when setting it down in the woods - but the black woodsy markings on the orange make the knife kind of cool - not just all orange. Lastly - the knife has got a pocket clip and fits well in my jeans - so I am not worried about losing it. The knife says it was made in the USA. That's good. I like the knife. I recommend it.

I bring this knife with me everywhere and I use it for everything. It looks great and is made very well. Its not too big for me as I do a lot outdoors but for a woman who wants a knife that would fit in her pocket maybe get the smaller one. For hunting, fishing, horseback riding, pretty much anything outside I LOVE it!!! Soooo worth the money.

This is probably my favorite folding knife I've ever owned, and that is saying something. Ergonomic, cheap, but good quality. I carried this knife through two deployments to Afghanistan, and when the original was lost, I elected to replace it. Shipping was fast, too: the estimate was 18-30 days to my APO address, but it arrived in about a week. I'm not a huge fan of the lockback, as it makes it difficult to close the knife one-handed, but it can be done with some practice. The handle feels like cheap plastic, but it's held up to everything I've thrown at it. I would say that I would buy it again, but I already have bought it again.

It's a Buck Knife so you know what you're getting is likely high quality before you even see it. It's got a great RealTree pattern on the handle for those of us that don't like Mossy Oak and the blade comes sharpened and ready to work. It's a pretty light knife for it's size which is likely because of the material the handle is made of but I've dropped it a few times and it's holding up fine. I made the mistake of leaving it in my shorts pocket and running into the ocean to play with the kids so I've put a little elbow grease on to get the rust spots off but that's my bad. I have a few different kinds of Buck Knives which is why I came back to buy this one, quality is always top notch and they're good about keeping their prices competitive with a lot of the low end junk people sometimes get suckered in to buying.

Decent knife for the price. If you expect a $100 knife for 23.99 then this isn't it. It's solid enough but the body is plastic. The blade is nice. My knife is a bit stiff to open. The lock seems good. Looks great the fit and finish is nice.
