This was a great love story which keeps you from putting it down at every turn of the page. I had a very late night finishing it!
I love the way it you are teased throughout the book will they won't they, then at the end you get a real wow moment which you don't see coming and is brilliantly done. Both characters are really believable and you can see them both grow, I love Maggie and her ocd and you can imagine her doing the things over and over which also amuses Sean.
They first meet with her rushing for an interview while Sean waits for someone to have pity on him and give him a lift home or even better Florida! He is a wrestler but even though he won and got what he has always wanted a top job pro wrestling which is his life long dream, he also got his face smashed so ended up in hospital.
Maggie stops because his wheelchair is in the way of where she needs to go and helps Sean open his pain meds, he falls for her straight away but Maggie is more worried about her interview than him. As soon as she runs off he knows he's got to convince her to give him a lift, but it will take a lot more to convince her especially when she drops him off at the hotel and he asks if she can take him to Florida the next day.
They have a love hate relationship due to Maggie's broken heart that she doesn't tell Sean much about to start with, but he has fallen for her he just needs to win her round.
I would recommend it to anyone that likes a great love story/romance without the sex and violence that goes with some. It's good old traditional romance with a few twists and turns along the way, boy meets girl falls in love etc, but the modern-day version of it, utterly brilliant.
Maggie is the only child of two successful, wealthy physicians struggling to find her way in life. She surrenders her dreams in order to have a real job and earn the approval of her parents and her doctor fiancé. All of the stress and pressure in her twenty five years have given her OCD tendencies she doesn’t recognize.
Sean is the only son of an abusive, alcoholic father who spent his childhood hungry and homeless. He never knew his mother. At age eighteen he leaves his father to work hard training and perfecting his skills as a professional wrestler. He lives by his talent, good looks and charm and avoids all relationships.
Two wounded, betrayed souls meet in a hospital. Maggie is there to interview for her first nursing position and Sean has been discharged after being treated for injuries sustained while wrestling. They have an undeniable attraction and chemistry neither wants. Without realizing it at first, the other holds the power to compel gut-wrenching, soul searching self-awareness that is both beautiful and painful to read. Life is messy and these characters dig deep to overcome their own demons and begin living life on their own terms.
There are some humorous parts throughout to relieve the tension created as the characters learn about themselves and each other, which I enjoyed. Overall, this book is a good read and I stayed up late to finish it. I liked that the attraction at first sight was tempered with time and space for both characters to come to terms with who and why they are as they are. They move from brokenness to wholeness in realistic and authentic ways. Some typos along the way didn’t detract from the story too much.
