Editorial Reviews

Review

Finding this book and Sue was what I needed right now in my life. An answered prayer? The fates aligning to my favor? I am stuck and down on myself. Reading this book was like having Sue sitting next to me, coaching, mentoring, encouraging, telling the truth about how to find my long lost mojo again and empower myself. No quick fixes or fads here. Just a lot of (un)common sense and grit and compassion. Compassion for one's self is a focal point. Sue gives great advice in a voice that is warm and genuine. She is honest in sharing her own struggles and her path to a better, more fulfilling and genuine life. Sue wants us to live our best selves, to express our soul, and reminds us that it is not selfish or silly to do so. Reading this book is like having a casual but meaningful talk with a good friend over coffee, warm and personal, not a lecture or sermon of do this, don't do that.

If you like the message and writing of Brene Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Cheryl Strayed, you'll love this book as well. And if you live in central Ohio, specifically Westerville, you will be pleasantly surprised to find out Sue is a neighbor and very accessible. After reading her book I had the privilege of meeting Sue and have signed up for yoga through her studio, Clear Rock Fitness. Sue's book and friendship are becoming the bedrock of my journey back to myself! --This text refers to the paperback edition.

About the Author

Sue Markovitch is a writer, personal trainer, and fitness coach in Westerville, Ohio. She owns Clear Rock Fitness, a studio that offers specialized fitness training for women over forty. She leads a seminar called Break Free, for women who are stuck in a lifetime of dieting. Through her work with these women over the last decade, she teaches that fitness and weight loss are not about finding the right diet or program, but rather healing the false beliefs we carry deep within us about our bodies and our worth. Her story of personal transformation and healing has inspired women of all ages to break free from the lies that keep them frustrated, overweight, and out of shape. For more about Sue and Clear Rock Fitness, visit clearrockfitness.com. --This text refers to the paperback edition.
