Storm has a straight forward style that contained some seriously funny moments. I don’t know if those moments were intended, or if it came across due to the writing.
I admit that this book was a page turner. Why? Because it kept reminding of something else. I wanted to see what would pop up next. The prologue made me think of Prince Charming and Snow White from “Once Upon A Time” hiding Emma away with Pinocchio in charge of her care.
The villain, Demetrius, reminded me of a gender-flipped version of the Evil Queen. Remember, she was out to get Snow White (Jessie).
By the time I finished reading this book, I saw it as a modern mashup of so many stories. The one that stood out was The Wizard of Oz. There was the Cowardly Lion (Bennie), the Tin Man (Mikey), the Scarecrow (Chad), the Good Witch (Melinda), the Bad Witch (Demetrius), and of course, Dorothy (Jessie). I’ll let you read it and decide if this assessment works.
But, it wasn’t just the land of fairy tales. The prologue could have been the opening scene of Superman. His parents were on the Planet Kryptonite placing the baby Superman inside a capsule and sending him to Earth for his protection. Lex Luther showed up wanting them to turn over the babe. Priceless!
If you have issues with reading about sex, this will not be the book for you. The Scarecrow and Dorothy have a real hot relationship, and we get all the details. Mind you, there are some funny scenes due to the impractical set ups.
“Knowing Fey” is supposed to be New Adult. But, I think the ages of the characters should be bumped up and the book categorized as Adult Paranormal/Erotica.
This is book one and it does have a cliffhanger. I only hope that in Book Two, the Scarecrow can keep his pants up and Dorothy keeps her dress in place. This story has potential outside of their exploits.
Jessica. Prophecy child. Thinks she's human. Oh boy is she in for a shock.
Mel. Best friend and protector. Will do whatever it takes to keep Jess safe.
Chad. Hot as hell hybrid. There is an electric attraction between him and Jess.
Mike. Another hot as hell warlock. Protects Jess with all he is.
Will they be able to protect Jess from the evil trying to destroy the Prophecy child? You will have to read the book to find out.
I recommend this to all Paranormal romance readers. Can't wait for book 2
People have died to protect her. People will die to protect her and to ensure the prophecies.
How can she come to terms with this in such a short time?
With new friends and old friends by her side to help her face her destiny, her future looks promising.
I truly enjoyed this story and the refreshing take on the fey world. Ms. Storm does a great job of bring this world to life and immersing the readers in pain and hope of the characters. I am a lover PNR and this is a great addition to this genre. I’m happy I was able take part in this journey.
*** I was given this book for an honest review. This plays no part in how I felt about this book.***
~My Book Obsession~
Rachel M Storm is a new author, yet from this book you would not be able to tell. It's written extremely well, the character developments are brilliant, the storyline is intriguing, interesting and I loved every page of it.
Jessica is a "special" kind of Fey.. she's the one that is prophesied to do great... or evil. She's handling it extremely well, and falls in love in the process.
Chad is swoon worthy hotness! He's a vamp... with a twist!
Then there's Mike and Mel. Wow. They are hilarious. I loved all the characters in this book, they each brought something different and unique.
The twists and turns in this book will leave you gasping for more!
