First Thoughts After
I know you hear me say this a lot but I want more about this couple. To give you an idea I want to know if the couple gets married did they have kids etc...... So yes I want more of Kate and Joel!
How Distracted Did I Get?
Kate is a single mom(mum depending where you're from) who is still wrapped up in her ex-husband. She gets forced into finding a date for a work function and employs an escort, Joel. Kate's "Lady Dragon" boss set her up to be in a couples game show. Will Kate and Joel make it to the end in one piece and live happily ever after or will circumstances ruin everything???

Kate is a self proclaimed doormat but she is sweet and tough for all she's been through. She does have self esteem problems but I don't think it's nothing that Joel can't help her along with.
Joel is Mr. Hottie McTottie though he has issues from his past too. Which makes him even more handsome and lovable! I'd love to know who Mandy has in her head when she thinks about Joel?
How Many Baskets

Knowing Me Knowing You had me wrapped up so tight in the story I honestly didn't want to put the "book" down til I was finished with the story. It was funny and dramatic. Just watch out for a giant dove!

My thoughts:

Ok I have to tackle one issue first, the cover, it's bad. Actually it would have been a huge improvement if the chicken was gone. Anyway had to get that out of the way cos I know how we all fall in lust with covers or even do not give some books a chance cos of bad ones.

Back to the beginning of the actual review then. I was not sure at first but then I got further into the book and the story was good. Sure there were some things that were a bit too simple, and one tiny plot was just that, tiny and silly, I wanted something bigger. But overall the book was good, because the plot in there was cute. So I got past it.

In this book we have single-mum Kate, who hires an escort (*shakes head, that is gonna get you in trouble* ;), and Joel who is gorgeous and nice. Soon they are more or less thrown into a contest with chicken gates and love questions. Kate has got doubts about herself, she does try to be strong for her daughter, but when it comes to men, yes she is broken. Then we have sweet sweet sweet Joel, aww, what a sweetie and he falls for her. But it will not be easy, cos we have a ex in the background, her issues with him being so good-looking, and trouble at work. In comes the bitch, I honestly wanted to slap the woman at the office. Trust me, she was evil. So there you go, a couple who pretends to be in love, falls in love. And one crazy contest going on.

Conclusion:

A sweet and simple book about real life, pretend life and that age old emotion, love. HEA promised, and humour.

Rating:

Ok and sweet

Kate Baxter is finding life a struggle both financially and emotionally. Eight months ago her husband Matthew walked out on her and their young toddler daughter Bethan. Not wanting the responsibility of being a husband or a father and cruelly claiming it was not what he ever wanted and that he was pushed into it.

Finding making ends meet hard she has returned to work at a firm of solicitors as a legal executive. When Kate finds she needs a date for a work function. Kate employs the services of a male escort service to accompany her to the work function. The escort turns out to be the handsome and gorgeous ex model Joel Brown.

Finding they have been set up by one of Kate's work colleagues to enter into a televised competition called Knowing Me Knowing You which is like Mr &Mrs and having no choice but to enter they find themselves somehow through to the next round in the competition.

When Kate finds out that the winning price is 100,000 pounds. Kate knows having that sort of money behind her would be the answers to all her problems. Especially now Matthew is refusing to pay any contribution towards Bethan. Kate sees this has her chance to be financially secure and she will not have to depend on anyone financially anymore.

There is only one problem to Kate's plan. Can she convince escort Joel to enter the rest of the competition with her when she can not afford to pay his escort fees and she needs to keep most of the prize money for herself?

Knowing me Knowing You is another great love story from Mandy Baggot. You can't help cheering Kate on from the start of the story wanting and willing her to change the desperate situation she has found herself in. This is a romantic feel good read that's got an excellent storyline, great humour, and a superb cast of characters. You can count on Mandy Baggot's books for an entertaining and enjoyable read.

The main characters in Knowing Me, Knowing You are easy to empathize with. Kate and Joel are both good people who find each other and fall in love. That's very nice, but it would be boring if they didn't have some major flaws. Mandy Baggot provides those flaws for her characters and thus makes the story believable. Why would handsome Joel put up with Kate's insecurities and her drinking if he didn't have some imperfection himself? It's the give and take between the characters, and their own insecurities that keep their feelings swinging back and forth. How will they work it out? Will they work it out?
I have to say I really enjoyed the Dragon Lady's comeuppance.
Mandy balances the scenes very well - no boring places - and I was entertained from the beginning of the book right to the end.
