From the Author

As a big fan of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You, Crossfire series, I thought perhaps I had something in me that was worth writing. E.L. James and Sylvia Day have done so much for the steamy romance genre and I do want to tip my hat to those authors. Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You have blazed a trail. Thank you, E.L. James and Sylvia Day from this author and all those who follow in your amazing footsteps.

About Knowing his Secret (Year of the Billionaire Vol. #1)

I've always loved acting. I drew on my experiences in amateur theater for the setting where Tristan and Raina meet. A lot of people are surprised at how much talent can be found in Little Theaters. Even though folks don't get paid, they put a lot of effort and time into these productions. I thought that the setting would be a good way to keep the characters together without having them actually work together. For me, the apprentice and the big powerful boss is a plot line that's getting a bit worn.

In creating the characters for Knowing his Secret, I wanted to craft believable people. I didn't want to take a cookie cutter image of a dominant billionaire and an innocent young woman. Tristan has his warts (of course, not the physical kind) and Raina is no pushover. As the series progresses, there is a subtle shift in the power dynamic. Even though the characters are larger than life, I wanted to reflect the kind of changes that naturally take place in a relationship over time.

Attention to detail is one of my obsessions. I probably don't need to do as much research as I do for my books, but I want to make sure that you can get from point A to point B in fifteen minutes if I say you can. Particularly in part two of this series--Taking his Risk, I add quite a bit of background to the characters' little French vacation.

About the Author

The 'C' in my name stands for Cheyenne. Although you wouldn't know it by looking at me, I have a great grandparent who was a member of that Native American Tribe. Her people once lived in the very southeastern corner of Montana where I now make my home. I didn't always live in such a wide open space, though. I grew up in New York City. Much as I love the city and admire what it takes to live there, I met a kindred spirit at Columbia University and together, we found a way to take our lives from the Big Apple to the Big Sky. We haven't regretted a moment.

We've got a smallish ranch where we raise cattle and keep a menagerie of other animals, too. Once or twice a year, we hire a 'ranch sitter' and take an urban vacation somewhere hitting all the restaurants, plays, museums and musical performances we can squeeze in. Then it's back to the wide open.

A writer finds creativity flourishes in solitude. My fantasy world is full of characters and stories lined up and waiting for me to bring them to life. I hope you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

First of all, if I'd known this wasn't a complete story in itself I wouldn't have tried it. I hate cliffhanger. I also hate women who allow themselves to be nothing more than sex toys for some rich, overbearing jerk, which is exactly how Tristan comes across. Clearly, Rains had no respect for herself to just let him do whatever he wanted, including humiliating her.Don't waste your time or money.

Couldn't do it. I really liked Ms. Falls's Wet Series, but there is no way on God's green earth I'm going to finish this book.

Raina obviously has NO self respect. "There was a primal connection between us that defied logic" or some such nonsense. She claimed this after he FIRST treated her like she was as insignificant as a gnat.

Then, despite this, Raina allows herself to fool around on the stage. He's exhausted and when she asks him just to let her know he got home safely, he yells at her.

That's when I was finished. But I bet Raina wasn't.

I understand reluctant heroes, or tortured heroes, but if this is what women want to read, then we are in worse shape than I thought. I've read a lot, (look at my reviews and you can see just how much I read)and there have been many times the hero was less than heroic, but in this case, he was W.A.Y. beyond unheroic.

He was a brat. Not a man.

And she was a child. Not a woman.

Shame on you, Ms. Fall, for continuing to perpetuate the myth that a man as screwed up as Tristan will be worth it once he redeems himself from abusing a woman.

This was a good book until the end. I really hate a cliffhanger and wish that the author's now days would just write one really big book!

Well, here's another cliffhanger of a tale about a woman who thinks so little of herself that she'll let herself be humiliated all in the name of love or lust or sex or something.

In this opening book the heroine is allowing herself to be carried away...she's with him on his terms giving what he wants and afraid to ask him the questions that matter to her. But what the heck, he's rich and powerful and handsome to boot, so why not go along for the ride?

Except the only ride you get is onto his oh so luxurious airplane and then.....well, buy the next book. Sorry, but Tristan (oh my god why are these guys named things like TRISTAN) and what's her name (she's such a dishrag that I can' remember her name)aren't that interesting. After all Tristan only seems to care about her private parts and his greatest compliment? She's so F**KABLE. (His word, not mine.)

Of course, his mom's dead, his dad's an iceberg and he's got a dead fiancée. And it's still not enough to make me want to read more. Billionaire books are quickly joining the Zombies and Vampires in my subjects I don't care to read about.

I give this book one star because the author forgot to finish it.

I think as the series continues it will get better. However, I don't think that Knowing His Secret developed the characters enough for me to want to continue to read the rest of the series. I though Raina was spineless I felt as if she blindly followed Tristan even knowing he had many dark secrets. Raina was very whiny and irritating while Tristan was about as interesting as watching paint dry. I wanted to like this book I really was excited to read it, hopefully it will get better as the series continues.

Not worth reading! I didn't. feel any real connections between the two characters. Tristan is an arrogant ass that gets what he wants. Raina is a naive romantic dreamer that is willing to give up on her on pride to sleep with this man. Raina is a very weak individual in my opinion and just takes whatever Tristan dishes out. It is a short story to get you involved to buy the other books to continue the story. I didn't like it., no new book for me.

A little erotica with a great storyline, had me reading not only this free story, but buying the next two also. I loved this book, was pulled into the storyline, and rooted for the characters. This is a book worth buying and then loaning to close friends. Kudos to Ms. Falls for her story telling ability, I hope she keeps it up. And please support her and other Indie writers..word of mouth is all they have!!

I love erotic romance but I'm getting a little tired of stuff that reads like it was written by a sorority sister. Knowing his Secret has the good elements of authors like E.L James, Kate Dawes and Sara Fawkes--smokin' erotica, a gripping story, to-die-for alpha hero, but with a couple of big (and to me highly significant differences). First, although this is a series, this book can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone story. Second, the prose is just so different. It is much more sophisticated. Yes, the heroine is young and relatively inexperienced, but I didn't get that 'embarrassed for her' feeling as I have with some other books of this genre. Yes, the hero is almost too good to be true, but there's a much more likeable feel to him than I have found in some alpha heroes. Tristan King proves you don't have to be an a**h*** to be a dominant, sexy man.
I have already purchased the second in the series, Taking his Risk. I'm looking forward to more from this hot new writer.
