I had this program with my son and he absolutely loved it. I decided to buy for my grandson, however it will not work on anything newer than Windows XP so unless you have an older version of Windows, it will not work. This is sad because it really is a great program. I wish the company would release an updated copy.
I loved this when my kids were little but it is completely unusable unless you have a computer that is 20 years old or more. Why the company is still selling this without an update to make it compatible for newer OS is behind me. Especially since the price tag is $21.95. I was completely saddened that I couldnt play this with my granddaughter. I would love some recompense if possible. My grand daughter would be better to have been exposed to this software teaching tool.
Does not work on computer! Outdated software. I loved it 20 years ago but unfortunately it is so out of date it doesn’t work with new windows technology.
Got an old pc from a friend just for these older jumpstart games. My son loves them, and they are far more beneficial than just staring at YouTube all day. Very pleased. Try running in compatibility mode if you’re having issues.
My grandson is 4 and finds it all way too easy, except that he does not know his alphabet yet. There was only one activity that involved the alphabet - and it was simply a matching game rather than learning the names and order of the alphabet. The games don't compete with other games found on-line that involve monsters, superheros, etc. I personally like the older Jump Start games, but find the lower level ones unable to draw their attention.
