Purchased this for my wife instead of a kindle. Really wish I had put the money towards a device that lasts longer than 6 months. One day, during camping, she closed her protective case and set it down in her chair. When she came back (mind you, no one was near it) half the screen no longer worked. We opened a warranty case with Rakuten Kobo since there is a 1 year warranty. Nope, they stated it was due to "physical damage" and it would not be covered for a free replacement. Literally in a hard, protective case with no impact marks to the screen.
What a waste of money. Do not buy. They do not honor warranty terms and make up excuses for why it cant be covered.

This is the best Kobo e-reader I've had, since I decided that it'll be my first one too. It's light enough to hold, sharp and clear screen and I don't really have to worry about how long the battery holds up. So far, it's been 3 weeks since I use it, and it still have 50 percent charge left. Not a voracious reader myself, but so far it's been good. I get the idea of why to some, but yeah, the power button placement is a sore to my eyes. My mind always wondered to this button, every single reading time while holding the device. It's annoying most of the time really. It's not completely flushed with the frame, so there's always that worries that I might accidentally press it. Another thing is, I don't know why but I don't see the Overdrive option on my Kobo setting. While it does mentioned about the Overdrive support. I'm totally fine so far with it's not there in the settings menu, but that's one of the reasons I bought Kobo in the first place. Anyway, I just passed the idea of having it on mine, as I'm happily enough to get all my e-books elsewhere and still be able to read. Only used the WiFi to update all the purchased books I have and progress, nothing else. If all you need is only for reading books, with not much graphics involved, the it's all good. It'll be my only e-reader for a long time until it brake down I guess. Kindle are too popular and doesn't support ePub really. I just need an e-reader that is not Kindle, and read books on.

Tried to ask the seller and was told that the warranty is only for 1 month... in that case, I tried to ask the seller what I can do but the seller does not seem to be responding.
I dont recommend buying this
