I bought this chain breaker since it is meant to break #25 - #60 chains and after i ordered it i read all the bad reviews on how it's not meant to be used on small #25 chains and that it just ruined their chains but after i received it which was btw very quick shipping..i used it to cut my goped gsr40 chain and it worked like a charm! The people that said it doesn't work on small chains is cuz they don't know how to use it!!!! Alil advise when your turning the lever don't try to push the pin all the way out just turn it till the pin backs out just alil bit then go with the next pin & do the same and then remove chain from tool & just wiggle the link out by hand plain and simple..if u try to push the pin all the way out with the chain breaker all you will do is bend the chain.so just remember turn the lever just alil bit to push pin out not all the way though.oh and watch some youtube video's on how to use this tool..that's how i realize that i wasn't suppossed to push link pin all the way out.great tool!will last for years.

I got this to shorten a 415 chain for a motorized bike project I'm working on. I tested it on an old 415 chain I had from an old motorized bike project and it pushed the pin out with little effort. I like how it comes with a different pin for other chain sizes of similar type.

The quality feels very good and it's an impressive & innovative design. Much better than those other standard design chain breakers that fall apart after a few uses. I tested it 3 times and it pushed the pin out every time without showing any quality problems. Keep oil around for when you need to re lube it over time and it should last a long time. Also it says it contains a chemical that may cause birth defects or cancer so wash your hands well after using it. Your hands get kinda messy after using it because of the oil anyway.

How this works is you grip the roller of your chain on the clamps of the chain breaker and you turn the pin until it pushes out. But be aware it bends the link on the other side of the pin your trying to push out. You could fix the link that got bent with a vice so keep one handy incase you wanna fix the bent link. Usualy I just dispose of the remaining links I remove which is usualy one of the links that gets bent while removing the pin.

Unsure how anyone would rate this thing poorly, unless they were not mechanically inclined. Sure it's not perfect, but it's also not a 85 dollar pro grade chain seperator.

I've used this on #41 chain without issue either, unsure how previous reviews said it was junk.

Arrived fine and performed the job proficiently as expected. I have a #41 size chain and this allowed me to remove a link in under 60 seconds. Great price and was the right tool to make the job easy. This equates to great value.

This chain breaker works great. I use it often on #40 chain and have used it a couple times on larger 50 and 60. It is exactly like another one I had that wore out after maybe ten years (the threads eventually stripped). My old one lasted a long time so this one should too.

I've owned a breaker of this style for decades. Used it hundreds of times. Never had to grind any pitch pins. I loaned it out and it didn't return. I bought this one and used it several times on 520 o-ring chains. The tip just gave up and crumbled. Same for the spare tip. They do not sell replacement tips separately but don't know why I'd care. If you don't mind having to grind the pins down on your chain this will work fine for you.

I read a review from a couple years ago which said this breaker was wimpy with fragile handles. This one has solid handles! My #50 chain parted with practically no effort. Previously, my approach was to grind down the staked link to the plate, then punch out the pin. That consumes a lot of time and may contaminate the rest of chain with abrasive particles.
