I'm going to echo the general sentiment that other reviewers have shared. This is a nice little wine cooler. I decided on this model for the size, the dual zone feature, and the wooden shelves.

The cooler is the perfect size for the amateur wine collector, or for the person that just likes to store wine in the appropriate temperature. I have been a been storing wine bottles from my many wine tours throughout California for some time, and just now decided to get a cooler since I moved and have the room for it. I'm not a serious collector, and don't have more than a handful of nice wines...That's why this is perfect for my needs.

So, here's the good and bad of the unit:

Pros: Perfect size for my needs. Not many options at the 18 bottle range. The cooler is made of nice materials. It doesn't feel flimsy, and looks very nice in our living room (we have a very open space).

I like the dual zone feature, especially since you can make both levels the same temperature if you go through a period where you don't have white wines. Special note**: A dual zone cooler is only necessary if you want to be able to serve red and white wine out of your cooler. To clarify, the proper storage temperature for ALL wines is 55 degrees fahrenheit. That's right, you can store both red and white in one zone, and do it properly. However, if you'd like to be able to pull both red and white wine right out of the cooler and serve it immediately, then you want the ability to store at cooler temps for white.

I like the wood frames. They provide a nice look to the unit.

The digital temperature gauges are really nice and convenient. I have had no problem getting the temperature exactly where I need it. I have read of others having issues getting the temp low enough.

Looks nice and cools well, quickly. Dual zone seems to work well. Very pleased except for one thing. Larger/Wider bottles don't work well at all. If you can get them in at all, they then block the level next to it (above or below) from opening at all. So, if you are like me and have lots of Pinot Noir, Syrah, or Petite Syrah, you will not get 9 bottles into your upper cabinet. Really don't understand a design flaw like that. Do the designers not actually drink wine?

The cooler arrived dead. That is not the worst of it. The return instructions made me upset. The seller suggested to have a professional to box the cooler back. I have to foot the bill!!!

Following is the quote; "NOTE: You must have all the original packaging to return this item. Returns received without the original packaging will be rejected and returned to the sender. Comparable boxing may be used, with prior approval by the phone representative when you reported your return request. Comparable boxing must be of sufficient quality to avoid any damage to the unit beyond what may have been reported. Professional boxing is recommended but not required."

In short you get what you pay for. There are Four (4) concerns with this wine cooler:
1. It must be unplugged to turn it off. There is NO on/off button in the door only temp up/down & interior light controls. Our outlet is difficult to get to which makes it an issue for our application; may not be one for yours.
2. Door does not feel like it is securely closed.
3. The lock for the wine cooler only latches at the bottom. Had there been a top & bottom latch the door could be verified securely closed.
4. Water pan cannot be removed and must be access from the rear of the unit

Per the owner’s manual "Occasionally, the water pan may collect water in high humidity environments. If the pan appears to be getting full, do the following: Disconnect power to the unit, Use a soft absorbent towel to wipe the water pan’s water. Reconnect power to the unit." Something to consider if you live in Florida!

In general it seems to be working fine, it doesn't make a lot of noise and doesn't cycle too frequently (which means the door IS closed). But be aware if you tilt the wine cooler even a little, water runs out from underneath. Koldfront/Edgestar should consider a removable (from the front) water pan and ON/OFF controls on the door which will greatly increase the versatility of this model.

I replaced a 12 bottle unit that stopped working and am delighted with this rather simple, inexpensive unit ! It meets my needs by holding 18 bottles while keeping the whites cooler( 46 vs 57) plus a bottom area that accommodates larger bottles(Persecco in my case).

I received this as a gift for my birthday last year and it's already dead. The dual cooling units do not work anymore and the top will not cool to any less than 64 degrees, the bottom does not function at all, what a waste. Will never purchase this unit again. When we called about it the 90 day warranty had already expired and we were expected to foot the bill to get it fixed, which was more than the fridge was even worth.

WORD OF WARNING: When moving the unit... make sure you to let it sit so the cooling fluids settle for at least an hour before plugging the wine fridge back in. Your fridge will never work properly again if you do not.
