I ordered the K5 on a Friday afternoon and it arrived the following Monday before noon with Amazon Prime shipping! It was packed very well, with good foam inserts and plastic wrapping all pieces. The box also included the thicker nylon carry back (with shoulder strap) for the rail, similar bags for the detachable feet, a cleaning rag, a detailed manual explaining how to adjust and care for the slider and the required hex wrenches for adjustments. NOTE: Always check all screws and bolts as some can come loose in shipping or might be missing.None was the case with the Konova.
I set the Konova up on a larger, heavy duty Manfrotto tripod for testing, using my Canon 5DII with the dual battery grip and a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens so it carried some weight. I mounted the camera rig on a smaller Manfrotto fluid video head and did a few practice runs. Initially I felt a slight rough feeling near the end of the slide but it disappeared after running the slider over the area a few times. Not sure if it was the lubricant being distributed in the bearings or just something on one of the rails but it went away and never returned.Read more ›
I do film and video professionally, and the Konova K5 is a fantastic option for a higher end slider. I was a little worried at the significant price reduction of the refurbished option available on the Amazon Market Place, but upon arrival mine came in great working condition. There were a few nicks on the base of the slider, but other than that and a bit of cleaning of the rails, it looked completely new.
The sliding action isn't 100% smooth, especially if you only have a lightweight camera attached, but with a good head mount you can definitely get some great shots with it. I would recommend the refurbished version over any other slider at the sub $300 price point.
Overall, what I received was a great slider for a great price!
Nothing compare to from slider perspective, but I've accumulated some quantities of photography tools from RRS, and others and Konova didn't disappoint...
Test footage was all very smooth and pro looking. Cannot wait to shoot some nature scenes soon.
Will definitely add more Konova stuff to my setup. The pan/tilt head seems like the next logical step.

This is by far one of the best products I have ever ordered!Published 23 months ago by Clayton Allen
The build quality is very strong. The slider does not bow under the weight of the camera which is obviously a very important quality in a slider. Read morePublished on December 26, 2013 by Chris Kehnle

I did a ton of research to find the right slider. Aside from the price point being very attractive, this is just a very well built piece of gear. Read morePublished on August 15, 2012 by Merge Production
This is the best slider for this price range out there as far as I'm concerned. I bought the K5 47.2 inch (which in my opinion is the only one worth buying), I was a little worried... Read morePublished on August 13, 2012 by Josiah Meida
