Who We Are
U-Konserve offers a complete line of reusable stainless steel food-storage containers, insulated beverage tumblers, stainless steel straws, reusable food wraps and more— all with the goal of reducing the staggering amount of single-use plastic that enters our waste stream every day. Their products are perfect waste-free solutions for on-the-go lunches, picnics, travel, camping, beach days and outdoor parties. They’re also ideal for everyday kitchen storage—store family leftovers in airtight stackable containers that also nest in the cupboard to save space.
Committed to Reducing Waste
Since U-Konserve’s inception in 2008, they’ve stayed true to their mission to offer safe, reusable food-storage solutions designed to eliminate waste. The company is rooted in the deep appreciation of our planet and oceans, and sustainable design — and these two concepts still guide the company every day. As a registered B Corporation and a member of 1% for the Planet, U-Konserve has met rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, and they give back a percentage of sales to environmental non-profits that share their message.
Stop using plastic baggies altogether when you stock up on our innovative reusable food wraps. Wrap sandwiches, bagels & cream cheese, meat & cheese slices, apple slices or whatever you want to wrap up and take along. Our reusable sandwich wrap is similar to a snack bag, but lies flat to double as an on-the-go placemat, making them great for school lunches. Our wraps make perfect refrigerator storage for snacks and leftovers like cut meats, cut vegetables and blocks of cheese. They're also the ideal waste-free alternative for takeout, picnics and travel. Unlike a cloth snack bag, this non-toxic surface is easy to clean, dries quickly, keeps food from seeping through, and the slick surface is perfect for messy foods. As seen on the Today Show in their segment about waste-free, allergy-free and toxin-free lunch packing!

I purchased the green, large size 2-pack. These are good, and I primarily use them for for small snacks, like stacked half-sheets of graham crackers. I like them because they take up less room than storage containers and because they fold flat when done. I still use plastic wrap here and there, but I'm trying to limit it, so this is a more eco-friendly option. They aren't nearly as flexible as I had expected- this is my main concern. They almost feel like they'll crack at the corners. I really expected a softer, more flexible material like what reusable baggies are made of- I can't even think of anything I've handled to compare this material to. I would definitely just go ahead and go with the sandwich wrap made with beeswax instead- it's more expensive but feels more durable. I don't think I could get a sandwich to fit in here comfortably, since it doesn't fold well if you're not folding on the pre-folded parts. The picture with the large circular sandwich is really misleading, because the item really should be way smaller than the wrap since it doesn't fold nicely. I can't get a normal sized rectangular sandwich to fit in this, and I'm not switching to square bread. You pretty well have to crease it to make it fold on the top flap. I can't get the top flaps to fold in to velcro unless I crease them, slightly squishing whatever I've got in there. It definitely has the potential to be a great product, but the execution is just a bit off. If it were more flexible and a bit larger, it'd be perfect.
On other colors people have complained about bread being too big, just turn the bigger loaf 90 degrees and it fits fine. They also make a great placemat for the kids food on the lunch room tables.
