Do not take this product if you have difficulty in swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention. Do not use when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting are present unless directed by a doctor, if constipation lasts more than seven days, or if you have difficulty swallowing. Ask a doctor before use if you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks. Stop use and ask a doctor if you experience rectal bleeding or fail to have a bowel movement, as these may be signs of a serious condition Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Allergy Alert: Inhaled or ingested psyllium powder may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to psyllium.

Indications

Uses: For relief of occasional constipation and to induce regularity. This product generally produces bowel movements within 12-72 hours. Purpose: Laxative

Directions

Mix with at least 8 oz of water or other fluid. Taking without enough fluid may cause choking -See warning.Adults & children 12 years & older: one teaspoon 1 - 3 times daily. Children 6 to under 12 years of age: 1/2 teaspoon 1 - 3 times daily. Children under 6 years of age consult a doctor.Additional Info: laxatives, including bulk fibers, may affect how other medicines work, wait 1-2 hours before or after taking other medicines. Can be taken before or after meals, mornings or evenings.

The combination of psyllium, ground flax seed and oat bran has been a terrific help with digestion and helping the heart (flax seed) for over 20 years for me. I first heard about this from a Canadian dietician at a conference talking about a 20 year blind study done taking these three items daily. I mixed them together equally by weight and mix two tablespoons with my yogurt daily and be sure to drink at least 10-20 oz. Of liquid afterwards.

I warm my cup of water in the microwave before I stir in the KONSYL. It take about a minute to dissolve. Then I drink it through a straw. There is NO TASTE, which is a good thing. My husband calls it my "Morning Coffee!" I thought I would not like drinking it, but it has helped so much that I may not need surgery at all!

I've taken this product off and on for years. I mix it with protein and shake it up in a shaker bottle. If you take this regularly, you might not need toilet paper. For me, it works that well and going to the bathroom is a clean experience. Without, it's messy with a lot of needed paper. Graphic but speaking truth. I really should make this a permanent daily requirement. You'll be glad you tried it.

My Dr recommended this to me. More fiber per serving than anything else, bar none. No flavor which is fine, I put it in my protein powder,best way to go. It's higher price is well worth it as it lasts longer, no artificial sweeteners or flavors which I can't tolerate

This does the job, but does not mix well at all with water. I tried different temperatures, not much difference. I have not tried any other liquid. If you can find it without high shipping costs, get the konsyl-d instead. The konsyl-d mixes well.

I got the konsyl-d from the VA originally but when I requested more they sent me a different brand of some terrible sweetened stuff that I hated. Not being able to find the konsyl-d with prime shipping, I bought this.

I would start with 1 teaspoon a day and see if that works. I never needed any more, but I eat relatively healthy.

Stick with Metamucil

The formula for this product does not mix well in liquids. It clumps and gels very quickly, you have about 20 seconds to dump it in water and chug it down. The taste is not good, but it’s unflavored psyllium husk so I wasn’t expecting much. For years I’ve been using Metamucil unflavored no added sweeteners but I have not been able to find it anywhere so I decided to try this. Metamucil is far superior, blends better since it’s finely ground. This is a poor alternative. I have to mix a little at a time to get it down. It also helps to put half the amount recommended in large glass of water. You end up having to drink this twice but it lessens the taste and makes it easier to drink. Once I can find my go to Metamucil no added sweeteners I will no longer use this product.
