Nice Little Tool For Digital Artists
Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2019
There's not a whole lot to say here. It does exactly what it says, feels good to press, and holds up well. Programming the keys isn't too difficult once you learn the Amag software, and having plenty of spare key caps to choose from is nice. Although, i really wish there was a Space, Ctrl, and Shift key cap. Even if they were a single key cap instead of a double. Other than that, no complaints.

I was on the fence about going to an ortholinear keypad, but this changed my mind. I'm using it for Destiny 2 play and it a measurable difference for me. I don't care for it for regular typing, but for gaming inputs, it is literally a game changer. The switches are lighter than my preferred Razer Greens, but still tactile and clicky. The key angles are fairly normal and it is comfortable to use. No wrist rest required. Coloration with their tool is not as fancy as I hoped, but it does do a nice color cycle. Missing is a starlight effect which I would like very much. I might try to write a new driver for it to get the coloration I want. The keystroke assign function is a big part of why I like it - I've moved several key assignments around using their driver and this is a big help for me with the game setting. Overall, I recommend this if you are struggling with inputs and want to get a more natural linear sweep for your fingers.

Refers to Koolerton 23 Key keyboard (Blue Backlight / Red Switchs)
this is really a mixed review. There's a lot to like here and this might be perfect for some applications. But in my case, there are a lot of down sides too.
Lets start with the things I like
1) Excellent build quality. Feels solid. Worked perfectly out of the box. A+ here.
2) Very high quality USB cable came with it. Another A+
3) There are 4 layers, so in reality you can map up to 96 different keys (23 x 4).
4) Full set of Black keyboard keys with transparent letters, perfect for the backlit keys
5) 23 extra blank white keys.
6) Included keycap puller
7) Actual usable instruction pamphlet included with it. Who does that these days! Very nice touch. Like it.
8) Software worked well (on an up-to-date Win 10), no problems running it and connecting to the Keypad.
9) Running the software on 2 PC is possible. When moving the keypad to the other PC, just connecting to the keypad will download the config from the keypad into the software for changes. No need to transfer config files from one PC to another.
Now for the list of things I didn't like (or could use improvement):
1) The software for programming the keyboard is a little quirky but nothing too difficult to figure out with just a little trial and error.
2) Clicking the "Upload" to keypad button only uploads the section you're working on. ie. changing the keymapping upload will not upload the macros. You need to upload those separately. Just a quirk to learn
3) Each key can be programmed with either a single keystroke or a macro. By single keystroke, I mean one key-press. If you want to do a combination keystroke, like Win+L, that's 2 keystrokes. Tp do that you need to use macros.
4) You can assign a "Macro" to a key press. But you're limited to only 24 macros. For your macros, 12 of them are "Quick Macros" limited to 24 chars max. And 12 are "Custom Macros" which are limited to 42 chars. Remember, pressing Shift, Ctrl, Alt, or Win key modifiers consume one of your precious few characters.
5) Remember, with the 4 layers, you really have 92 programmable keys but only 24 macros. That limits the usefulness of the keyboard as the remaining 69 keys will need to be single keys, same as on your normal keyboard.
6) Given the limited size of each macro (24 or 42 chars) and only having 24 macros available, the usefulness is limited.
7) Macros can contain other imbedded macros, so you could work-around the 24 or 42 char limit, but you'd be using more of your precious few macros.
My intent was to store fairly long strings of frequently repeated keystrokes. This is just to limiting for that.
Things for improvement:
1) Increase the size limit on the macros to at least 100 chars.
2) Increase the number of macros available. 92 sounds like a good number :)
3) One missing feature that would be nice to have in the software is a Macro recorder. Would be nice to have it record my keystrokes as I work instead of making me enter a series of keystrokes manually.
So there you have it. Its a well built solid product. But has a lot of drawbacks when it comes to taking full advantage of an otherwise excellent product.
** Update 1 **
I noticed a weird quirk. If Caps Lock is set ON on your main keyboard, the Caps Lock will also apply to any key or macro on this keypad as well. Kind of defeats the purpose, especially if you have passwords stored on this keypad.

After 2 days, however, it went haywire. I press the button associated with control+K to clear my selection in my image editing program and, strangely, it's only as if I pressed shift+S instead, for sheer mode, and the image also moved to the right by one, as from pressing the right arrow key. Somehow, the firmware got changed. Disconnecting, waiting a few seconds, then reconnecting it fixed it, oddly.
About 2 more days later, I wanted to make another adjustment. Communication error. I tried several times. Communication error. I disconnected the USB cable, waited a few seconds, reconnected it, then tried again. Communication error. I tried another disconnect and reconnect, doing both ends this time. Communication error. I tried using device manager to update the driver. No update available and it's coming from Microsoft as there is no driver download from the manufacturer. So, thinking the driver may have been corrupt, I uninstalled all 3 keyboard instances that show up (even though I only have 2 keyboards, disconnected both keyboards, restarted my computer, reconnected the keyboards, my main one first. I see one keyboard showing up. Connect this macro keyboard and I now see 3 keyboards showing up. 3? There's only supposed to be 2! So, I tried making that change again. It worked this time and I was able to do it. Then, about 2 more days later, it wouldn't do anything, at all. Press the button I have assigned to the ÷ symbol (hold alt and, on the numpad only, type 0, 2, 4, then 7 in that order, then release alt (the number is after the ASCII position); the numbers above the letters cannot be used) and nothing happened. Repeat on my normal keyboard doing the holding alt method and it works just fine. It's not a program limitation, it's this macro keyboard. After another system restart, I was able to get it to communicate again so I can make the adjustment.
2 days later, it stopped responding again where pressing the buttons didn't work, doing absolutely nothing. 3 strikes, I got with Amazon to return it and got a replacement. Amazon did very well with that. I got the replacement, got the key mapping redone, and better than I had before, and everything was fine. I go to bed, turning off my computer as usual, then I wake up... to find that the keyboard's colors are not set right. I originally had it on rainbow, option 2, but it somehow got changed to option 3 from simply turning my computer off then back on again. I got that fixed, but the replacement was behaving weird. I would randomly see it doing what it does when you disconnect then reconnect the device, with the white light flashing where the third from the left key at the top row is, then going into the color pattern cycle as it's supposed to do. After about 4 hours of normal use, I saw that the color pattern somehow changed. Green and magenta got added in when I never set those colors. I went into the AMAG program to try to correct this. Communication error! I tried the usual disconnect/reconnect and that, by itself, fixed the colors where it was behaving like I expected. But, just trying to do a connect to it to see if it's even working right, surprise! Communication error! It would absolutely not communicate with the software whatsoever. I tried disconnecting it then try connecting, but I get a different error stating that the device is not found, of which I'd expect. I reconnect the USB and try to connect with the software. Communication error! I tried switching to a different USB port, a direct connection on the motherboard. Communication error! I've run out of ideas on what I can do on my end to fix this. I tried clicking "update" and the program would just go into an infinite loop (100% CPU usage on one core) and stop responding, but only when I'm on the "custom macro" tab. Even a half hour later, it's still stuck on that. The other tabs just show an error.
Normally, a bad egg is about a 1 in 300 chance, but 2 bad eggs in a row is a 4 sigma anomaly, a massive statistical outlier. The quality control at the factory seems to be poor to nonexistent for this product. This product is a waste of resources. This is under Windows 10 Pro with 192 GB of RAM, a 32-core processor, a GeForce 2080 Ti... it's definitely not my computer, it's this piece of trash keyboard with defective firmware that's at fault. Do not buy. There are better options out there and I'm starting to look into them instead.
The 2 screenshots are of the communication error I keep getting when I click on "connect" in AMAG, and also device manager for the driver tab. There are no updated drivers, even though it's 15 years old.

When I first got this, I was thinking it was going to speed up my productivity a fair bit, especially with all the copy paste and use of special characters like ÷ or ≈ that I have. Getting the key mapping and macros set up for these was easy enough to do. After a few hours, I wanted to make an adjustment to replace something I didn't like (on my end, such as replacing control+Y with control+S instead). No problems there. I like the brightness of the LEDs and the rich color quality that they have. When set up, it's easy to use.
After 2 days, however, it went haywire.

2 bad eggs in a row - don't waste your money on this trash
By N. A Smith on August 10, 2021
When set up, it's easy to use.By N. A Smith on August 10, 2021

Perfect little keypad!
Reviewed in Canada on March 29, 2019Color: White/RGB backlit/Red switchesVerified Purchase
I was very interested in getting an ortholinear keyboard, but didn't want to jump in without trying it out first. Couldn't find anyone local with a grid-like keyboard so I went looking for a flat numerical keypad that I could turn on its side. I eventually found this. Couldn't find much information online about it, but figured it was worth a shot. It definitely was.
I currently use it for gaming, but will be setting it up as a macropad for programs for work as well. It has also inspired me to build my own keyboard (which I am currently in the process of figuring out what to get).
The software for it was a little hard to hunt down, but there's a link to it on a YouTube video Koolertron has posted about this keypad. The program file is AMAG.exe and is called AMAKeyboardClient. It works great, though just now I seem to be unable to connect to the keypad through it. I'll edit this review in the future if this becomes a persistent issue. I'm sure if you're already into keyboards there's some other program that would work just as well, but I'm quite new to this and didn't want to risk it!
It claims the 65 keycaps included are top-printed, but they are double shot, and of pretty decent quality. They're on par with the Corsair K70 keys I would say. The blank keys however, are horrible. I won't be using them on anything. They feel gross to touch. Also I was missing one 1u sized key, and one 1u key was significantly discolored. Overall not a huge deal, but I would have preferred to use the blank 2u key as my spacebar instead of the "0 INS" key. The blank keys feel like trying to assemble a LEGO kit with dollar store bricks.
I've used a Razer keypad in the past, but got rid of it after only a week or so of using it. It was far too uncomfortable, and the lighting was greatly disappointing. The lighting on this is BRIGHT (and adjustable!). I use my wallet as a wrist-rest while using it right now as it can get a little uncomfortable after using it for a bit. I'll be getting a proper rest as well.
Very happy with this keypad overall, I'd definitely recommend it for gaming or work. Would be a great stream deck as well.

Flawed but I like it

I like this keyboard a lot, its fun to use and has a very satisfying sound and crunch. The programmable keys are great for working at my job. I can easily have all my animation shortcuts available and never need to use my main keyboard. I only have a few problems with it.
1- It's doesn't sit flat. IT wobbles on any flat surface a lot which can be very annoying.
2- It is a bit sore for the wrists because its so high up which can be annoying if your working long periods of time.
3-Actually programming the keys can be a bit difficult to figure out for the first time. The software is not really user friendly, and if you never dealt with macros before that can be very confusing.
I fixed the first two issues with a spongy mouse pad with a wrist pad, although i still get a bit of pain in my wrist. The 3rd issue just takes some time and googling.
I do really like the keyboard overall.

At this price, this is my best keyboard purchase EVER

Loving it!
I have always games on the keypad of my gaming keyboards (and bought ones with macro keys on the right side) so this helps a lot with desk space.
Great programmability and configuration!
It's very portable to boot, and works great with android. I take this and a wireless corsair mouse to my buddy's for LAN and play off my phone connected to my home PC via moonlight, everything works flawlessly since the setup is all saved to onboard memory. Fits nicely on a small lap desk with the mouse, full sized keyboards tend to be an issue.
I have a few nitpicks listed below, but they don't stop me from absolutely loving my purchase.
-It isn't obvious which keyset you are in, and switching to 3 from 2 gives a single flash like switching to 1 from 2. I though the constant light at the top was supposed to actually change position to reflect the current keyset, not just stay stationary.
-The keys seem a little mushy for a mechanical, coming from a blue switch board it's very different tactile sensation. though the quieter noise is nice.
-The layout (while awesomely customizable) takes some getting used to because the keys seem to be a touch closer together than a normal keypad, so my fingers needed a little retraining I still occasionally hit the wrong key because the distance isn't the same as my muscle memory. It's nice that you can put any key anywhere because you can minimize mispressed keys by making menu commands and the like more difficult to push by rotating the key to make a more noticable ridge and the like. This mixing and matching the key sizes and orientations as you see fit can also help get your finger placement on point.
A wireless version of this would be amazing.

Bit pricey considering it's somewhat buggy

Needed a programmable unit for a previous job, it's not the most intuitive programmer, and it needs a better way to setup macros and to have more. I had a few issues, one the lighting would just reset on its own to something weird, I would then have to take it home and reprogram the lights. The keycaps need to be one uniform size so you can move keys anywhere. I needed something with onboard memory as work did not allow software usage. this fit the bill, but the interface to set it up needs a lot of work to make it simpler and better.
