Are you having trouble getting a delicious, flavorful brew with your counter-top coffee machine? Need something portable for your Office, RV, or outdoor adventures? Tired of having to make a whole pot of coffee when all you want is one cup? Those days are over thanks to the Kuissential SlickDrip Coffee Dripper. Simply place the SlickDrip over your mug, set the paper filter, add coffee and boiling water, and your java fix will be satisfied within minutes. Thanks to its modern, FDA food-safe silicone design, the SlickDrip lasts much longer than more expensive acrylic, glass and ceramic versions. Also, unlike cheaper plastic drippers and counter-top coffee machines, silicone does not pass any odors or flavor into your coffee. Who likes plastic coffee??? For best results use a #4 or #2 coffee filter, which will keep loose grounds out of your mug. If you want more control over your coffee’s flavor, and a more affordable, collapsible, alternative to glass and ceramic drippers, welcome the SlickDrip to your home. (Please note we have recently changed the spelling of our brand name from Cuissential to Kuissential. Everything else about us is staying the same. Sorry for the confusion!)

- SlickDrip: 3-1/2 oz. 4-1/2" diameter x 21/32" tall. Made for #2 filter.
- William Bounds: 3-5/8 oz. 4-1/2" diameter x 20/32" tall. Made for #2 filter.
- GSI Outdoors: 4-3/4 oz. 5 7/16" diameter x 29/32" tall. Made for #2 or #4 filter.
Really the SlickDrip and William Bounds versions were pretty interchangeable, very similar in size and design. The SlickDrip just slightly won for me because it weighed a fraction less, and I liked the cheerful orange color (wouldn't be hard to spot in the depths of a dark suitcase). The William Bounds comes in a choice of red or black; the black might be a good choice if you're worried about stains, not sure if the orange or red colors might stain over time. The only way I'd see a reason to choose the GSI Outdoors model would be if you actually want the option of using a #4 filter, or if the drip tray is important to you--but to me, the extra inch in diameter and over an extra ounce of weight compared to the other products was just not worth the drip tray.
There are a couple design flaws with the holes. Moving them a touch closer to the center could fix the issue. But the real fix would be adding protrusions, or nipples if you will, to the bottom of the holes. Because the holes are currently at the same level as their immediate surrounding on the bottom, liquid can travel horizontally and leak over the edge. If they protruded a small amount, a millimeter of two, I think the issue would be resolved.
This should be a set-it-and-forget-it type of device. But as it is, every morning I pour in my hot water and hope that I've lined things up perfectly.
My first review (below) stands as is.
In fact, I just gave this 2nd one away to a a coffee lover along with a box of #2 filter papers from Melitta. My friend is a visiting missionary from Italy traveling to supporters across the US for the next few months. As you'd expect, Italians love their coffee, and while he prefers Expresso, he enjoys a good cup, and did enjoy several while staying with us. When he expressed his longing to have a good cup while traveling, I immediately gave him this collapsible silicone dripper and the filters to take along. Sometimes the family will be staying at guest housing where there may not be a coffee maker, or it may be too troublesome for just one cup or a travel mug.
Well made and very useful product for those who recognize the value of it to make a great cup of coffee while "on the road".
I'll be buying another to replace the one given away, too.
Kuissential has been proactive emailing detailed instructions and advice for use of this product as well as in soliciting its review. For that I commend them. The instructions caution against overfilling, citing the possibility of collapse of the cup. Being a good boy, I didn't overfill, but having used this now several times, I feel the construction is sturdy enough for very low risk of collapse as used as recommended... and further, for extracting the best cup of coffee, I'd not want to fill over the bloom of the grounds (I use two heaping measures for my 12 oz Travel Mug) anyway... and, too, with two drain holes versus the Melitta single cup cone's one, I feel I want to pour less water or pour more slowly. I found no odor or taste from this Silicone product (was washed before use). Bottom line, it worked and worked well. I purchased this for travel purposes, and I may gift one to friends and family who travel in India and South Asia, where they have good coffee and plenty of hot-pots for boiling water, but coffee pots/makers are few.
