This epic fantasy adventure is based on the fiction of Conan the Barbarian creator Robert E. Howard, and stars Kevin Sorbo (the hunky star of TV's Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) as the sword wielding hero Kull, son of Conan. Set in the mythical land of Valusia, Kull is a warrior who rises to become King until corrupt relatives conspire to plot his demise. Although he loves the slave girl Zareta, he is bewitched into marrying the vicious 3000 year old sorceress, Akivasha, resserected by Kull's enemies so they can murder him on his wedding night. Soon Kull finds himself on a dangerous search for the Breath of Valka, the only weapon powerful enough to destroy the forces of evil. With an abundance of black magic, stunning slovakian locations, and grand battles of good versus evil, this heroic adventure classic is thrilling entertainment.

So, I was able to watch the movie with fresh or unfiltered eyes. First off, being a fan of the Hercules series, I pictured Kevin Sorbo as perfect for Kull. And I found Tia Carrere as a quick-witted, focused, and intelligent Akivasha. And nice to look at.
The plot was simple but the imagery, music, and secondary characters added a lot to the story. I would not say they carried it but they did keep me watching till the end. The background and history of the setting feels a tad tacked on but that may be because I have not yet gone through the Kull stories.
In the end I enjoyed it and if you enjoyed it I would also suggest Red Sonja,The 13th Warrior, or Conan - The Complete Quest.
