About the Author
In 1956 Swami Sivananda Radha was the first Western woman to become a Swami. She was initiated by her Guru, Swami Sivananda Saraswati of Rishikesh. After an intense training, described in Radha: Diary of a Womans Search, he asked her to return to the West to set up many spiritual centers and to update the Eastern Teachings so that they could be easily understood by the Western mind.
Since that time she has founded Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia, Canada in 1963, The Association for the Development of Human Potential in the United States in 1971 and many affiliated centers in Canada, the US and internationally. She is the author of Hatha Yoga: The Hidden Language, In the Company of the Wise, From the Mating Dance to the Cosmic Dance, Mantras: Words of Power, The Divine Light Invocation and Seeds of Light among others.
