Another useful Kupo product.

I've never used it as a wall plate, it's mostly used when I need a small footprint to hide a floor mounted light. I like it better than the similar "M" brand one that I also have. The "M" brand has a welded post, and while it's sturdy, the welding splatter wasn't cleaned off before being chrome plated, and the result is a rough surface, and you have to be very careful where you place it so as not to scratch the floor or surface it's on. The Kupo unit, in comparison, has no sharp edges and all it's surfaces are smooth. The post is held on by a bolt rather than being welded on, but it's still rock solid stable.

If you need more stability when using heavier modifiers you can attach it to a small piece square of plywood.

I have a bunch of these in the studio. I can make an instant table, platform, device to support my product (in product photography). My favorite use is to hold my camera triggers and I connect this to a magic arm and position exactly where I want. With a bit of gaffer's tape and a magic arm, this is about as versatile as it gets. Love them!

These mounted super easy to our popcorn ceilings. Just made sure one side went into a rafter/joist and used anchors on the other end. We have a softbox light mounted on one and an LED panel light on the other. It's a normal 7'9" ceiling height, and both my husband and I are tall, but we leave the lights up with their power cords coiled and attached to the lights, and we don't even notice them. Really happy to not be tripping over tripods!
