Product description

Bridging the Gap on Long Car Rides

Sometimes your pup just needs a little more open space in your car to feel secure and comfortable while traveling. It's a difficult dog's life when you don't know whether to be oversized and under protected on a lofty seat - or to hunker down on the not-so-soft floor. The Kurgo Back Seat Bridge does just what its name says, and bridges the gap between your front and rear seats, so falling to the floor is never a problem for your pup.

With a few simple attachments this padded bridge connects between seats to extend Fido's spot, providing the extra comfortable space that they need to have a happy ride. There is a fold down center barrier that acts as a wall just in case you stop short, and also a built in cup holder and pocket for organization.

  • Sturdy, rugged pad that holds up to 100 pounds
  • Partition creates a barrier to hinder dog from standing on the armrest and getting in the front seat
  • Reversible black and hampton sand colors to match vehicle interiors
  • Water Resistant
  • Cup holder and pocket for storage
  • Universal fit
  • Measures 16D x 52W x 1H; not recommended for spaces greater than 13" from back of seat to seat edge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it – but not for the intended use!
By Vee Ess on May 25, 2019
I bought this, but not for its intended use. I needed something to bridge the gap between the backseat and the front seat so I could have more room to sleep!

I just finished a 5500 mile trip in 12 days and needed a place in my car to be able to sleep when I wasn’t staying with people. (For the record, I only sleep in truckstops which are far safer than rest stops.)

I wasn’t sure if this would work, but it did! I think the weight limit is 75 pounds and my head is not that heavy, LOL. Please note that you can *not* sit on this, so make sure you don’t. I used it just for a pillow.

Having used it, I know that it would work great for a pet. I was thoroughly pleased with it. I am not endorsing it to use for anything other than pets. I’m just relating my experience.

By the way, I am a 70-year-old female and hope to make many more road trips!

2.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Can't Handle the Weight It Says It Can
By Nick on April 18, 2015
My dog is 95 lbs and this lasted about 3 months. It says it is rated to 100 lbs, but that is a lie and after I dissected this product it is easy to see it is not meant to handle anywhere near 100 lbs. The stitching on all the attaching points is great, but the weak link is the stiffness of the boards themselves. All they are is 1/8" pressed cardboard sandwiched between 2 layers of foam. I ended up removing most of the closing stitching, added a piece of .451" thick plywood cut to 47" x 15" and sewed it back up. It now holds my dog like the original product stated it would. If your dog is towards the heavy side, be prepared for this thing to taco on you.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good
By Greg Olson on April 13, 2019
I'm not sure I'm using this in the manner in which it is intended. Yes I wanted a bridge between the front seats and the back, but I wanted this bridge to connect to rear seats that were folded down. First the good: this fits a 2019 Forester perfectly for what I want The width will just allow the car doors to close without much room on either side. It seems fairly well made, with the caveat that I just got it so I'm not sure how it will wear. Now a couple of cons. The straps are indeed very short. I had to extend them as long as they could go, and it just fit. I'm not super wild about the seat strap, as it crosses right around where the lumbar seat support is. I'll have to see if that is a problem or not. The actual bridge structural material is a little too flexible, I was hoping for something a bit more rigid. It doesn't inspire confidence that it will hold in the long term. But for now, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. In the pictures, ignore the orange and black strap. That is something currently being used to support the zookeeper (thing preventing dogs from going into the front seat).
