As I need a lot more power than this can provide when I play live, I haven't really gigged with it, so I can't attest to it's durability on the road. But it seems substantial enough, and has been great in the studio.
I'm a glutton for low end response, and there's plenty of low end for me with this, so there should be plenty for most anyone else. Highs are open and smooth. I'm honestly not sure what make of speaker they use, but I certainly haven't felt any need to upgrade.
While I got this to pair with the aforementioned Defender head, I've found myself using it with my other lower wattage heads as well, and it's even found use as an extension for a combo or two. It's just a great sounding, flexible cab. I'm hoping they make a 50+ watt version because I kind of want one.
And as I don't see it mentioned or photographed, it's a 2/3 closed, 1/3 open cabinet, with panels on the top and bottom thirds with the center open.
Even with a low-wattage amp driving this cabinet such as I am using, it nonetheless will put out more volume than most people could stand for long. It sounds beefy and full. I will be spending lots of time getting used to it using various effects and so forth, but right now it's like an early Christmas present to myself. Nicely built, looks good, works like a champ and at a bargain price. What's not to like?
One addition...I noticed after writing this review that there was a five year warranty. However, the warranty information sheet shows the effective date of that warranty to be Jan.1 2010, so be aware there is no warranty still in effect. It doesn't change my opinion at all, but thought it should be noted.
Update: I now have the second cab - this time with a Texas Heat speaker, and it does sound entirely different from the Man-o-War cab - a lot warmer, much less bite, but not muddy. The combination of both cabs really gives dimension to the sound, my high expectations have been met. And it will get better as both speakers get broken in... Swapping out the speakers was super easy btw: remove the two small panels in the back for easy access. The 8-hole eminence speakers don't line up with the holes for the stock speaker, except for two of them, so just use two additional wood screws (or more if you insist) , and you are done.

I love this cabinet. The speaker sounds great. Being an open back it disperses the sound nicely in the room. I also have an Orange PPC112 and this cab sounds just as good.Published 4 months ago by B. Bowersox
Great cheap little extension cab. I have mine paired to a 3W Brugera head for my practice amp and I get great tone from the pairing. Good build quality too. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Juice Box
Fantastic sound, looks great! I agree with other commenters about not being road worthy, but If you're a church or home player, it will be more than sturdy enough.Published 7 months ago by Amazon Customer

I can't ask for much better, especially considering the price. I may at some point in the future replace the speaker, but for now it serves me well.Published 15 months ago by Nobody
