Reviews posted a lot of critical feedback about noise. While the pump is loud, it is not loud for a pump that moves this much air. I was not irritated by the noise level while filling the fit balls. My cats were not fans, but I think most would use it outside. This pump makes half the noise of the Campbell-Hublfield 12v pump it is replacing.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality construction of the pump housing, it feels very durable, and a nice toggle for power. The hose is a little flimsy but did not collapse, I would imagine over time it might. Attachments are connected to the hose so they are not so easily lost. I would like to see a more durable hose (hard rubber or braid-wrapped) and while the quick-connect is nice I would rather see the hose attach to a threaded connector.
I give it 5-stars either way it is a quality product,
First thing you will notice is how loud the pump is - its very very very loud, and while I don't have a sound pressure meter to gauge it, i do recommend wearing ear protection or headphone earbuds when near this unit while it is in operation - especially when inside or in a closed area... its louder than most compressor pumps I have.
After getting over the loudness, which is its main negative... it works very well - the hi volume of air makes short work of any inflation... AND deflation... this pump will also work to remove air which is a blessing. Attached to the 3' host is a pressure valve, to prevent damage to inflatables and multiple tips. Amazing kudos to the engineer that decided to tie the tips to the hose with a line.... they will not be lost.
The instructions identify that this pump can only be used for 15 minutes of continuous use before needing to cool down and it does become significantly holt that I would not place it on anything that can melt. Watch kids hands because they tend to touch things out of curiosity and I'm sure a light burn is possible with the heat this thing generates.
The attachments are sturdy plastic and the host is ribbed to prevent collapse (during deflation). the unit has stable feet and a carry handle. For this price point and the fact that i don't need a pump daily, this is an awesome pump and I'd recommend it for people who blow up toys occasionally. I'm sure there are quieter units rated for constant use, but they wont be at this price point.
I modified the hose on the Air head to accept the Naru fitting and this thing kicks ass. I only need to manually pump the boat up to top it off at 3.5 PSI. This takes very little time and effort to do as the Airhead will take it up to 2.5 PSI. For the money you are far better of with this unit, it preforms very well.
