I love that in William Burt's King of the Trees series, there are threads of stories from our world, woven into the stories from the world of Gaelathane. Kyleah's Mirrors is, in some ways, a retelling of the classic "Cinderella story." But unlike the Cinderella, Kyleah doesn't need a prince to save her. Through her trials and adventures, she becomes known as the "gifted girl" - no longer useless and unwanted. True to other books in the King of the Trees, the main character, Kyleah must learn to trust in Gaelathane's love and sacrifice.
I greatly enjoyed Kyleah's Mirror. As with The Downs (#5 in The King of the Trees series), I think this book will appeal to adolescent girls in particular. Kyleah is a strong heroine, one worth rooting for, and emulating. 4 stars!
(The Wordsmith Journal strives to guide readers to books of personal interest, with the understanding and respect that what appeals to some may not appeal to others. Therefore we attempt to keep our reviews focused on content, genre and style. The rating is necessary to make use of Goodreads and Amazon. It reflects the reviewer's own level of enjoyment, but the review is intended to be informative for the benefit of all readers.)
I enjoyed reading Kyleah's Mirror. As with The Downs I think this book the strong heroine will appeal especially to girls.
