The Kyser Classical capo was the first quality capo I ever purchased. It lasted me over a year, until the long metal extension of the spring suddenly snapped. I purchased another one, (I couldn't find my warranty card. They used to offer a lifetime warranty but later reduced it to a year.) and haven't had the same experience with it. My original one was generally very sturdy, but after only a month or two, the newer revision doesn't hold the strings nearly as well. I now get a lot of rattle. Because of this apparent change in design, I'm in the market for a new capo.

There's nothing new to be said about Kyser Capos. But Amazon really should have this product listed as a CLASSICAL capo, not a "classic" capo. If you order this item, you will receive a flat (i.e. unradiused) Kyser Quick-Change Capo *for CLASSICAL guitar.* If you want one for a regular steel-stringed acoustic, order the item listed as "Kyser 6-String Capo." Avoid the mistake I made! :-)

I originally had a Planet Waves capo, but that was made for steel-string acoustic with the rounded fingerboard and it just could not perform with my beautiful classical. I had a couple gigs coming up that were simple strum-and-sing Valentine's songs, so I did a little research and picked this up. Man did I make the right choice! The quick-change grips are fantastic, and are far superior to capos that require screwing and unscrewing. The tension on this one is plenty adequate, and the flat part that touches the string ensures equal pressure distribution.

Pros: Quick changes, equal pressure on strings, proper tension

Cons: None!

While I knew that when I started playing again I would need a capo. When I was younger, this would not be an issue, however since my arthritis that has taken over and made simple tasks difficult.

I have no problems with this capo and my hand what so ever. The capo is very, very easy to move and take off without feeling like there is too much pressure or pain.

This might not sound important to a lot of you, but it can be to many of us. So if you have trouble with your hands, you may want to check this out.

After I have had it a little longer, I will probably make another review. I may even include a small video of me being able to easily use the capo.

I recommend this capo to all my friends since it is so easy to switch from one fret to another with it!

it holds the strings down well and enables me to transpose songs in a second!

I've had the same capo for 8 years and it never failed me! (I use it around once or twice a day)

GO KYSER!!!

Kyser has the best capos to offer, they last so much longer than any other brand of capo and this style looks elegant. I have an acoustic and classical acoustic that I use this specific capo for. I got the classical size just so it would fit both, and it works great.

Basically capos all the same, but this design doesn't have finicky knobs and screws to deal with. It clips on fast and can hang on your headstock quickly when not in use.

There's an art to putting any capo on so that it doesn't stretch the strings and pull the strings out of tune. Just place it so the back half of the fret is covered by the edge of the capo and your guitar should stay in perfect tune.

I ordered this because I'm learning guitar and needed it for many of the songs I play. I had no idea what what to get, and I'd never even heard of a capo before. After a little research I decided on this one, and it's been working perfectly. So it's perfect for someone who knows only minimal basics on guitars and capos. It's also been really strong and hasn't broken or lost its grip since I bought it, which is great.
