A year or so back I had no clue who the h**l Kat Von D was. One of my friends liked her show and her love for tattoos. So I decided to look her up online and to my surprise...wow! Her work is very in depth and awsome! I don't have cable so I am not able to watch her television show. When I saw The First Season was coming out on dvd, I had to have it! I didn't buy it when it first came out due to issues.

Recently I went over my friends house and she has cable and we were watching it. The show is awsome! Recently my set arrived in the mail and I have been watching it since then. You get to see a little in-depth look into her personal life along with her love for tattoos. Her JOB! Tattooing is not an easy job...as it is shown on the show. Kat and her posse are very good at their work and are very great artists!

Great Reality T.V. Show!!! Not full of bulls**t!!!

Problems are:

This dvd set says on the box Season 1 Vol. 1. I dont get why? Too much confusion here! I looked on many websites online and it lists 13 episodes for Season 1. This set includes 13 episodes which makes the entire first season. So why do they have it say "Season 1 Vol.1?

The 3 dvds in this set are not in your regular dvd case. No regular case...no slim cases. They are kept in cardboard sleeves. WTH! So everytime you take out a disc to watch it will get scratched. So why would you want to buy dvds that will get scratched each time you want to watch it? When I took out each disc to inspect them, they had light scratches. Light scratches "who cares" some may say? I care! I spent my money on a dvd set that should last a while, not a year. It says that the dvd companies are cheap with releasing television dvd sets!! I believe it's a sneeky ploy. They make them cheap, so then when it messes up people will keep buying the sets over and over again.

Also if you like your dvds to have awsome extras...this set doesn't have them!

The item I received did not have the same wording as the advertised cover. Instead of saying Season 1 at the top, it said Volume 1. I found that to be misleading, anyone purchasing this item should note it is not season one of LA INK but volume one of Season One.

Though this show did have more drama than the predecessor, but I grew to enjoy the show. Since newer shows of a similar nature are disappointing at best, I decided to purchase the seasons for watching. The shows themselves can be viewed lineal, individually or as an overall, and they are still very good. I am amazed at the talent that the artists have, and the reasons why people get tattoos very, but there is mostly some form of emotional closure. The more I have re-watched the episodes, the more intricacies I see in the relationships between the artists, and how the story is told. Great show.

Quick shipping by seller and packaged securely.

However, the DVDs are in a cardboard type sleeve that scratches the disks. Even upon the initial disk removal, disks will get scratched.

I would recommended cutting the DVDs from the case (easy to do with plain scissors) to remove them (instead of sliding them out), then storing them in your own hard plastic case. That is of course, if you don't want your disks to get scratched. If you don't mind disks that are scuffed up, then by all means slide them from the sleeve. Just be weary that doing that repeatedly might make the DVD skip someday.

great season with great episodes that focus not only on tattoos, but why people tattoo and the stories behind them. excellent work is drawn up for clients of all walks.of life. however they could leave the drama out, since its drama is the woes of being too young to own her own tat shop. but for the money,it was.worth it.

I watch this show, as well as other "Ink" shows, as research for my own tats. I really don't like "reality TV" or the LA scene. However, these people are at least interesting to me, so it makes it more palatable. Their art, on the other hand, is amazing! Very talented group. Some of the best work I've seen.

LA Ink is the same format as any other scripted reality series. Different city, different artists, but the same everyday drama as Miami Ink. Once you learn to tune out "reality" and focus on the tattoos, the show is worth watching.

It was years ago that I first watched Season One and have come back to it with nostalgic feeling and a fresh addiction. Love love love the original team of High Voltage, especially Hannah well known as a colourist and a great talent for pin ups, it has become one of my favourite series. Highly recommend for those new to tattoos and even for those, like me, who are avid tattoo collectors.
