Blog postA Short Holiday Romance Chapter 1-Rita
December 23rd. Two days till Christmas and off work. It should’ve been an easy day. But I knew better or at least I should have.
Even as the thought went through my head I knew things could be worse. Having a tire blowout on the interstate in the middle of a snowstorm could have been deadly. Thankfully all I did was skid off the road. I snatched my hat off and pulled out

Blog postShamefully, it has been over a year since I wrote a blog post, bad Laura! Anyway, I realized some folks may not know some of the wonderful things going on in the writing world that you can work on or learn about at the Florida Writer’s Conference.
If you didn’t make it out this year, you missed out on hearing Linda Fairstein and Heather Graham talking about the art of what they do and why they do it. As well as opportunities to connect with other faculty and pick their brain on2 years ago Read more -

Blog postYesterday, July 8, 2017, I had the pleasure of attending my third Orlando Book Festival hosted by the Orange County Library. My first year, I was a reader and writer; my second, I was a featured author; for my third, I was a moderator. It was in a word, AMAZING! The panels were informative and fun, and the keynotes were inspirational.
The opening keynote was by Adam Silvera, bestselling author of More Happy, Than Not, History is All You Left Me, and the soon to b4 years ago Read more -
Blog postI have been noticeably absent from blogging since the beginning of November 2016. I guess the election hit me harder than I thought. ;D
But guess what? I’m back!
What’s gone on while I was away?
For me it’s been writing, writing, editing, writing, revising, editing, publishing. Did I say writing? I actually have a new book out. It’s called Lily’s Grace-A Hotel Paranormal Story. It’s a different kind of book for me. It is actually a bit darker than my other storie4 years ago Read more -
Blog postThat’s right, I know it’s Halloween, but for me, it is also the eve of National Novel Writing Month. This time not only am I finishing, I am challenging you to join me. Do you have a novel inside you. Have you thought about it? If you have, NaNo is definitely for you.
30 days to write 50,000, with not just regional support, but worldwide support. Are you up for it? Normally I would write so much more, but I’m prepping for NaNo, so ciao for now.

Blog postWriting diversion-Painting! And no, it wasn’t paint by number
Today is October 21st. My sister Diana turns 50, I’m at my last writing conference of the year and I am trying to filter through some issues with Kindle direct for my latest publication, to get it out and released.
I think the fact that my sister is 50 today makes me feel more tired than anything. Then I look at all of the deadlines and milestones of the past couple of years and realize nope, that’s not why…

Blog postI know, I have no excuse for not posting on this blog sooner. I mean good grief you’d think I took summer vacation or something
Seriously though…How is everyone? I’ve missed posting here and there has been oh so much going on. What’s on tap? Well, writing of course. The curse for any author is that in order to stay relevant, you must write! Stephen King for example personifies the idea of the prolific writer. Blog postWeird title? Pompous? Presumptuous? A bit over the top?
Well it is and that’s because as authors we have to embrace those words in order to self-promote. That’s right, I said it. Self-Promote. We are not raised to toot our own horns, at least I wasn’t, so doing so is hard. Actually no, it flipping difficult as heck! (Replace PC words with expletives and you get the idea)
The hardest thing for an author to say is “Me? I’m an author.”

Blog postKicking and screaming. Yep, that’s how I came to Orlando, Florida, kicking and screaming but I have to admit, I love it here.
There is always something to do and if I want, I can do nothing. There’s Disney of course and Universal Studios, there’s International Drive, Old Town, the state parks, my new kayaking passion. There is something for everyone plus, I have my garden. Who knew this city girl would have a green thumb? Certainly not me, but I do and I love it.

Urban legends have thrilled and chilled us for years, always with a slightly different twist in the telling. Discover the truth behind some of these legends. From the legend of the Chupacabra, to the Headless Horseman, to Friday 13th or a Kidney Thief.
Twenty one different authors, twenty one tellings. These are your stories.
LA LEYENDA DE LA CHUPACABRA
Sightings of the chupacabra are rare and believed to be a case of mistaken identity. It is what everyone believes until the Hurricane. The island has need of it's misunderstood hero, the only catch? She's hungry.
The Legend of the Horseman:
The legend of the Headless Horseman begins in Sleepy Hollow, New York, during the American Revolutionary War. Traditional folklore holds that the Horseman was a Hessian artilleryman who was killed during the Battle of White Plains in 1776. He was decapitated by an American cannonball, and the shattered remains of his head were left on the battlefield while his comrades hastily carried his body away. Eventually they buried him in the cemetery of the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow, from which each Halloween night he rises as a malevolent ghost, furiously seeking his lost head. That's all there is...or is it?
A Night at the Inn:
August 4, 1892. Andrew and Abby Borden have been hacked to death in their home in Fall River, Massachusetts. Their spinster daughter, Lizzie, is charged with the murders and acquitted. To this day, no one knows what really happened.
Fast forward to present day. Will takes paranormal-obsessed girlfriend Emma to the supposedly-haunted Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast. The home, famous for the murders of Lizzie’s parents, is now a popular tourist destination for thrill seekers, ghost hunters, and lovers of the macabre. Did Lizzie really kill her parents? Only Max, a black cat who has taken up residence there, knows for sure. And he’s got a story to tell…if the couple will listen.
DEADLY EXCHANGE: A CHANGELING STORY
Edretta of the magical swamp people has lost two babies to an evil group bent on massacre of her kind. She will not lose another. Swapping her infant son with a human baby is the only way to keep her baby hidden and safe.
At 42, Montgomery never thought his dreams of being a father would ever come true. He couldn’t be more excited about his new son and is determined to love his...unusual...baby—sharp teeth and all.
But both babies come to mortal danger when the swamp baby is exposed in the human world and the evil group kidnap the human child.
Will the babies survive in their strange, dangerous worlds?
Hundreds of years ago in the town of Whitebridge, Native and European alike fought evil and won. The result, a town disconnected from our reality except for one day a year, the longest day, the day of the summer solstice.
Unfortunately the evil they thought beaten has just been biding its time. As generations have worked toward reconnecting with our world, some are content with the evil that surfaces once a year. With disappearances and random deaths of both residents and outsiders increasing, factions fight to either free the town or condemn it for all eternity.
Join the TOTH authors as they tell the story of Whitebridge, from Dani Lyons the current town Sheriff who begins to discover the truth of what has been going on, to Ariane Nantuck, one of the towns oldest residents who holds more secrets than anyone knows, to Billy Bane, who always appears crazy as a fox or is he just crazy.
No one person knows the truth, will you?.

Eleven thirty-four.
There is nothing particularly special about the numbers, nothing unique about the time. To most people, it is a 60-second period that happens twice a day. It is something altogether different for me. In the darkness of night, in a flicker of time too quick to discern, an old woman appears. I don't know who she is, where she’s from or what she wants.
All I know is that when she appears, the time is eleven thirty-four.
