Blog postTraveling Difficult Paths
I was driving the other day and noticed a young man sitting on a busy corner of a business amid the activity hub of people going home for the workday. The man looked to be about the age of my son who just graduated from college. He sat with a backpack and little else, his eyes were shaded with sunglasses. Upon closer examination, I could tell he was adrift, cast out into the life of the streets.

Blog postBlind dating? Why bring back that horror? Cycling back to the days of yore (before smartphones and Tick Tock) way back to the time when telephones were wired into walls and were usually located in the kitchen (we could call it the 1970s, or you could even go later on the timeline). Back to when you had a well-meaning friend who wanted to set your love life on the right track.
In those times, the blind date could be both an exciting and terrifying experience. Remember the movie,2 months ago Read more -
Blog postFor eleven days, we have stood by to watch horrific history unfold in front of our eyes. We have watched a foul man that many have labeled as unstable warp and craft his own version of history and make a move to land grab a sovereign country.
We have watched as President Zelenskiy whose selfless service and devotion have taught many of us a lesson about what type of person we should be. We have watched unparalleled resistance by everyday Ukranian citizens that has reminded many of us2 months ago Read more -
Blog postA good way to experiment with and change your rhythm when writing your fiction stories is to experiment with voice. Think of some of your favorite authors or some of the greats. Try writing your story incorporating that voice. For example, maybe you want to enhance your stories with your version of Hemingway, Maya Angelou, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, or perhaps, even The Bard himself. You know who some of your favorite ones are.

making ends meet in sorrow

Garvin’s (And They Came, 2017, etc.) latest novel offers a reflection of one girl’s coming-of-age in small-town Texas in the 1960s. ... Garvin is at her best when offering these cheeky nods to the past, never getting bogged down in nostalgia.
A winning narrator enlivens a charming tale of a town facing modernity.--Kirkus Reviews
