Using groundbreaking new animation technology, MotionScan, that captures every nuance of an actor's facial performance in astonishing detail, L.A. Noire is a violent crime thriller that blends breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience. Search for clues, chase down suspects and interrogate witnesses as you struggle to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide.
Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps is an LAPD detective thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.
L.A. Noire is the first videogame to be honored as an Official Selection by the Tribeca Film Festival.

I've played this game before on an xbox, and it was pretty fun. But I played it on a low resolution TV and had trouble with the interrogations due to the poor quality. So I decided to try the PC version to see if a higher quality screen would affect how easy the interviews were.
I'll never find out though, because this game looks terrible. It's clearly not optimized for PC, as it is locked at 30fps, and stutters even at this low frame rate. And even when being rendered in 1440p, the game just does not look very good. For reference, I'm using a Geforce 980ti in my system, so the hardware should support a good gaming experience.
Overall I can't recommend getting this for any PC gamers. I would have given it one star, but because I actually enjoyed the game the first time I played it I had to give it two stars instead.

I've enjoyed LA Noire. I had always enjoyed watching film noir from the 1940s, so I decided that I should give this game a chance. I'm glad that I did, as the designers did a fine job of recreating the aesthetic and feel of the Golden Hollywood Era. The voice acting and character effectively reflects the time period, and one easily feels as if they're on the set of a famous noir film. The cases are engaging and captivating, yet the writing could've been of higher quality as the endings are often predictable. I enjoyed driving the streets of Los Angeles; however, the driving can frequently feel repetitive and the controls are a tad clunky. Overall, I would reccomemd the game to anyone, whether a film noir aficionado or not.

The game has been out for a while so I assume most people know what it is. It's basically an interactive detective story, not GTA set in the olden days, make sure you understand that before buying.
That being said this is the complete version of the game including all dlc and special edition missions and it's decently priced, especially if you grab it on one of the many sales Amazon has.
I was able to redeem the code I bought here on Steam with no problem so as long as you're okay with Steam and the price on here is lower this is a great deal.

Great game for adventure, investigation players! It does have great story lines, graphics and some recognizable characters(actors) like Woody from Psych; which was hilarious to see! Not a fan of the shooting scenes but given that the character you're playing as is a cop, understandable, I do like that you get to drive but you don't have to either except in chases and maybe I wish the cases were a bit longer but overall pretty great game!

What can I say, it's ROCKSTAR. I already own this game on the Xbox360, and just thought I'd buy it for pc as well. Graphics are awesome, but what always seem to capture me, is the storyline, and gameplay. Now I have this song stuck in my head, "I ALWAYS KILL THE THINGS I LOVE" Youtube it, not the one from the game, but the orginal. The super old school setting this game's story is in, is a total blast.

I bought this when it was on sale for $7, and has been one of the best games I've ever played. It feels as if you are both watching a movie and playing a game at the same time. The graphics are great when turned up, but the real detail is in the faces. If you think you recognize someone's face or voice, then go look up the voice actor-through their process using an insane amount of cameras, faces are perfectly captured, which really comes into play when you are trying to read someone if they are lying. Would buy this game for a separate console and reccomend.

will not play on steam nor is any games I have purchased which Amazon directed to Steam, whereupon Steam has not functioned properly beginning with simply signing in. This seems to be a real rip off. I will never purchase another pc video game from amazon if I am forced to use steam
