    I almost didn't get these. But I'm happy I made the purchase. Now my little projects are portable - I can show my friends the little circuits I make without the need of a power cord.

    The big reason I chose these - the on/off switch. I constantly unplug and change something etc. I knew I wanted a switch and have not been disappointed.

    These are pretty rugged plastic case. Wires a "thickish" and I think strong enough to be used over and over. I attached them to a screw-on terminal. Having 2 is terrific - the freedom to have a portable project is enlightening! (okay, half joking, but serious note I don't need my USB power cable for some of my projects).

    I bought these to be able to test out devices that run on 9v, while not having to use a 9v power adapter. You just insert a 9v battery (we used to call them "transistor radio" batteries), hook it up to a component, and flip the built-in switch. I used one of the 9v and a 3v version (uses two AA batteries) in a display I built. That made the display very portable. I keep one each of these around in case I need them.

    Once the 9v battery is in place this is great, but there is very little room to push the battery onto the terminals. I had to use a flat blade screwdriver and twisted it against the inside of the plastic housing to force the battery onto the terminals. I'm concerned that after changing the battery a few times the housing may crack.
