I have bought this model a few times over and over. I am a pen fanatic and I sign documents and cheques pretty often. They write extremely smoothly and are well designed. The ONLY complaint I have is that sometimes the ink refils are dry. This may be because the particular supplier has slow inventory. Whenever I have had a problem they have replaced the product in quick time so overall its a great buy.

Really love the pen. I also have a Lamy Safari fountain pen (EF) and Safari ballpoint. So I pretty much knew what I was getting and knew it was a quality product. What i didn't know is the rollerball refill is labeled a medium but is way to broad for my writing style. It makes a very broad line so forget about writing in a checkbook registry or any small place. The refills are expensive and the ink is nothing special. I coiuld not find a 'fine' point Lamy refill online so I made a simple fix. took one of my favorite inexpensive pens, a Uniball Jetstream retractable and swapped out he refill. It was a little short so i put the spring in first, then the refill, screwed the Lamy together and voila! Got my favorite ink an a really stylish pen.

I bought this pen for my wife who had been using a Caran D'ache. This one is her new favorite. She prefers the smooth flow of the rollerball vs the ballpoint. It's also a pretty good looking pen though on the large size for someone with small hands(e.g. A lady).

I received my shipment on time and I received a prompt response when I submitted a question about receiving the incorrect item, however, I was unhappy with the response.

On product specifications, for the red pen, the ink color specifically states red (I just checked again). I emailed them to state that I had instead received blue ink with my red pen. Their response was that the default color is black and so it was not their fault.

I ordered 4 pens; a blue, a red and 2 black. If the default ink color is black, then why did I receive blue ink with my blue pen instead of the "black default"???

I said I would be willing to work with them since the product was shipped from Germany and I live in the US, but they said it was moot issue as the "default ink color is black", and it was not their fault.

I think I was most disappointed by them at least not admitting to their mistake. This cartridge is only 5.00US, but it's the principle.

Picked this up after reading reviews and I'm glad I did. I'm a bit of a pen snob (meaning I have way more than I can ever use), so I was excited to find a nice looking pen at an affordable price. It writes super smooth and feels good in my hand. I can't speak to the length of time the ink lasts yet, but I'll update this review if it turns out to be terrible. This is a nice pen for the price, and I would definitely purchase again! Lamy seems to be a great brand.

An instrument that looks a tad finer than it writes. Ink flow is sporadic; not as smooth and continuous as one would hope, but perhaps a different cartridge will help. The pen feels comfy in the hand; light and airy.

I LOVE this pen...don't mistake it for just another ballpoint as it's not. The ink in this pen is water based....not oil based like a ballpoint...and it has a very fountain pen-like appearance. Writes smooth as butter too!

That is where the love affair breaks down. The quality of the ABS casing is nice, along with the clip but the pen cartridge is not much to write home about. I use this pen in the office mostly, as it doesn't stay closed as securely as I would prefer. I am a professional, as I carry a laptop bag and keep my office supplies well organized, etc. The deal breaker is that the pen tip skips as it writes, which is completely random and doesn't appear to be based upon the kind of paper being used, etc. I have also purchased 4 pen refills [all originals from the manufacturer], and two of them perform the same way. It is obviously not a well designed rollerball, perhaps the ballpoint is better.

I usually keep a second sheet or two of paper behind anything that I am writing on just to make sure that the pen I am using can flow as nicely as possible, but it just doesn't make a difference with this pen. I am not a pen collector, I actually want to use the pens that I purchase, I see no use in having something sitting in a drawer just to look good a few times a year when I open it.

I also own a Pilot Ageless Pen, which writes very well. I will just stick with that, and give this one to anyone that wants a mediocre pen that looks better than average.
