Product Description

When used with an RGB controller (sold separately) one can control the color output including solid colors (red, green, blue, etc.) gradient fading, and blinking. This strip is capable of producing vibrant colors while at the same time being very energy-efficient and not consuming a lot of power.

Note
* Minimum bending radius: 5cm (2").
* Unroll LED strip completely before powering on.
* Unused wires of the LED strip must be isolated to prevent potential short circuit.
* Test all components before cutting or permanently mounting the strip.

You may or may not get new product. I ordered and Amazon used two different vendors for my LEDs. In both cases the static packages were not sealed as new and the LEDs were defective which made me wonder if I bought someone else's return. Neither would display red and instead gave off a white with a very light tint of pink, one did a blue and the other did not as shown in the picture, it was once again white with an ever slight tint of blue. Orange did not display on one and was washed out on the other. Yellow was not near what the picture shows and you guessed it, it was mostly white. Green worked on one strand and was a washed out white/green on the other. I am still looking for two good 5M color runs to complete my project. To make a long story short, BEWARE of the fact that different companies are filling the orders and all are not sending sealed, new product. You need to check your product BEFORE installing it because you may get a surprise. Good Luck!

This item was suggested as part of a "Frequently bought together" bundle along with this LED strip kit: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040FJ27S/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00. I elected to buy it because the extra 16 feet of LED strip was going to be perfect for my project.

Both the kit and this strip were supposed to come from the same vendor (LED wholesalers), but Amazon fulfilled this item from some other vendor. That vendor sent a SIMILAR item, but not the SAME item. In fact, the strip I received when I ordered this item is wired differently than the strip in the LED kit (blue and green are reversed), making it impossible to use them together without some creative soldering.

I contacted Amazon and let them know of this error and asked that they send the correct item. At first, they told me to contact LED Wholesalers for the correct item. When I explained that wouldn't work because LED Wholesalers never got an order for this item, all I received in reply was a boilerplate "we're refunding you" email. No explanation of why I was getting a refund instead of a shipment of the correct item that I ordered. I emailed them again a few days ago, and it looks like Amazon customer service is done talking to me; still no response.

Buyer beware. Amazon will fulfill this item from whatever seller they feel like, and it probably won't be compatible with the LED strips from LED Wholesalers. Skip buying from Amazon and go directly to the seller's website.

Originally ordered a couple of the full kits from another vendor (remote and power supply) and these were going to be add ons for a long run around a ceiling track. First thing I noticed was the quality of the packaging was little less for the plain strips. Noticed that the specs on the packages were a little different and the LEDs themselves are a little smaller or "different" looking, but not much... other than that I couldn't really tell the difference other than the style of tape used (both made by 3M, which was a good sign). Ultimately I wired these up and the difference in quality is night and day. The colors aren't as vibrant and nowhere close to matching the other 2 that came with full kits. I'll probably end up using the extra strips in a different area where it may not be as obvious, otherwise I may just give them away... after ordering another full kit that matches the quality. I believe the difference was the brighter ones were 5050 SMD and the less were something different, not specified on their product page.

I ran several strips of these through my house to provide various color accents to compliment the seasons and changing weather. They work great. I was very happy with the quality of the strip, the brightness, and the color. I bought the wireless remote and dimmer combo to control these. It seems to work well.
If I had to do it all over again, though, I would probably buy the "600 LED strip" that provides more color saturation than this strip does. In other words, you can kind of see the LED dot's if they are close to a ceiling or wall. Wasn't a deal breaker for me though.
At the time, these were Amazon Prime, so the shipping was fast and free. I like that.

I ordered these lights not really knowing how it would be wired because i have never used RGB strips before. They come with four wires that need to be connected instead of the two wires (positive and negative) that i am used to in my single color LED strips. My biggest problem was that i could not get them to work. i figured they needed the RGB controller to work, and i did not want to order the controller and wait for it to ship in. I asked a worker at a car specialty shop some questions and he explained to me how they work.

There are four wires from the strip. on mine, the colors are black, blue, red, and green. on other light strips it may have white instead of black, but im sure it works the same way. You connect the black (or white) wire to the POSITIVE end of the battery, and the color of your choice to the NEGATIVE, or ground, terminal. So if you want green, the black wire goes to the positive, and the green wire goes to the negative. if you want purple, you connect the black wire to the positive, and both the blue and red wires to the negative.

if you plan to cut the roll into multiple strips, you may find it difficult to solder on new wires to the strips. there are four points that need to be soldered (if you want all seven colors), which may prove to be tricky because the points are near each other, leaving little room for error.

The lights are nice and bright, as you would expect from an LED strip if you have previously owned any. The colors are red, blue, green, yellow, purple, teal, and white.
